What would you score out of 11?

  • good health
  • big (enough for your needs) house
  • job you enjoy
  • family and friends that care about you
  • kids (if you wanted them)
  • hobbies that you have time to enjoy
  • enough money to be comfortable
  • a loving marriage/partnership
  • good self esteem
  • mostly happy/content
  • enough holidays to satisfy

Really enjoying all the positivity. And beautiful to hear of so many who have overcome a lot to build happy lives ❤️

10/11. I could always do with an extra holiday or two.

I know I am very fortunate

BCBird · 24/10/2024 19:31

Three. How sobering🙄

LimoncelloSpritz · 24/10/2024 19:31

All apart from hobbies. I don't really do hobbies, apart from reading and travelling. Maybe more holidays would be nice.

LimoncelloSpritz · 24/10/2024 19:32

Ps I am very conscious of how fortunate I am.

Marmite27 · 24/10/2024 19:32

I’d quite like a few more holidays, but it’s a yes to the majority of that list.

BBCK · 24/10/2024 19:32

9 or 10. How much is enough money though? Not enough for many luxuries but enough that I can sleep at night.

Sunnnybunny72 · 24/10/2024 19:33

10 easily. Two years left in the job.

ISeriouslyDoubtIt · 24/10/2024 19:34
  1. I'm now retired but enjoyed my work. I was widowed young in a shocking way and never had another partner so that's my minus one point, but apart from that life has been good.
DustyMaiden · 24/10/2024 19:35

10/11 I don’t have a job, early retirement. So

UnimaginableWindBird · 24/10/2024 19:37

I've got most of those. Having said that, I think my house is big enough and that I have enough money to be comfortable, but by the standards of a lot of other mumsnetters I'm living far below the minimum they could possibly live on, in a house far too small for my needs!

Plamas · 24/10/2024 19:38

All of them, but I didn't always have all of them so I appreciate how lucky I am every single day

reallifeboogie · 24/10/2024 19:39

Honestly.. 0. Depending on who I'm on shift with then 1. The rest are 0.

MamaBanana12 · 24/10/2024 19:41

I have them all except the biggie - health!!

I'd trade in the holidays and the fancy bits just to be well again

But incredibly lucky nonetheless

orangetriangle · 24/10/2024 19:43

I have all of them now I'm very lucky but I am 55 and it hasn't always been that way in my younger years I have had my fair share of worry and troublesxx

Neurodiversitydoctor · 24/10/2024 19:44

Crunched · 24/10/2024 18:51

10 - the exception being a hobby, but that isn't something I miss/need.

Me too not enough time.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 24/10/2024 19:44

10, I'm single but don't consider that to be a bad thing!!

I'm very lucky.

Daisybuttercup12345 · 24/10/2024 19:45

7

Nothatgingerpirate · 24/10/2024 19:45

All of it, apart from holidays, which I cannot be bothered with.

cocoloco23 · 24/10/2024 19:46

3, but I think I have 2/3 of the most important ones.

I have a job I like, family and friends who care about me, and enough money to be comfortable.

The 3 I’d say are most important* are:

  • good health
  • family and friends that care about you
  • enough money to be comfortable

…so I consider myself lucky to have two of those.

I don’t care about the big house / hobbies, and I think happiness / contentment is both temporary and entirely relative.

(*disclaimer: not true for everyone. Obviously if you desperately wanted children and didn’t have them, or your self esteem is low enough that it causes mental health issues etc, that’s different)

StressedQueen · 24/10/2024 19:47

11, I am so grateful

worriedgal · 24/10/2024 19:47

11 and I'm very happy with my life and incredibly grateful.
It's been a tough road ,as I'm sure it is for everyone but we are very fortunate.
