What would you score out of 11?

  • good health
  • big (enough for your needs) house
  • job you enjoy
  • family and friends that care about you
  • kids (if you wanted them)
  • hobbies that you have time to enjoy
  • enough money to be comfortable
  • a loving marriage/partnership
  • good self esteem
  • mostly happy/content
  • enough holidays to satisfy

Everything except good health.
Plus I’m retired but did love my job.

Nameinspirationneeded · 24/10/2024 18:53

Eyesopenwideawake · 24/10/2024 18:54

Sethera · 24/10/2024 18:54

10.5, I am very lucky, but as others have said, I have been through a lot to get here.

Loafbeginsat60 · 24/10/2024 18:55

9 because I'm too busy to do any real hobbies and although we do UK holidays, we don't go abroad as a family - dh doesn't fly as it makes him poorly 😔 so I go with the kids

  • good health - No
  • big (enough for your needs) house - yes
  • job you enjoy - so so
  • family and friends that care about you - yes
  • kids (if you wanted them) - yes
  • hobbies that you have time to enjoy - not really. But I only enjoy reading and music
  • enough money to be comfortable - we don't go abroad but better than some.
  • a loving marriage/partnership - yes
  • good self esteem - no
  • mostly happy/content - yes
  • enough holidays to satisfy - I'd say yes

I never take a day forgranted

gingercat02 · 24/10/2024 18:56

All of them, thankfully. Although the people do get on my nerves a bit (and me on theirs) at times.
Work can be a PITA too sometimes because of a couple of fuckwits.
Mainly very grateful for my life.

Ragwort · 24/10/2024 18:57

I'm not particularly fit and am overweight but apart from that I have all the things on your list .. not 100% happy in my relationship all the time (who is?) but perfectly 'content'.

Wdththtm · 24/10/2024 18:57

I have just two of them ☹️
But, it’s better than zero I suppose.

Prisonpillow · 24/10/2024 18:57

10

Chewbecca · 24/10/2024 18:57

10/11 - health leaves something to be desired but other than that, I consider myself to be very lucky. And even with my not great health, it could be worse!

TTPDTS · 24/10/2024 18:59

Donkeyfromshrek · 24/10/2024 18:59

10.5 Thank you for that list OP. I am guilty of taking what I have for granted sometimes, or stressing about small stuff, but that did make me stop and think how lucky I am.

About 5
Doesn't really bother me though and still think I have a nice life

Overthebow · 24/10/2024 18:59

10, everything but a hobby as life is too busy at the moment. Like other pps I haven’t always had it easy in life so am proud of the life I’ve built for myself.

TheLittleOldWomanWhoShrinks · 24/10/2024 19:01

About 9 (a couple of them I've counted as halves). Though I would like more holidays, they're really not important. I'm very, very lucky indeed.

Feels a little weird to 'score' these things, though, as if they're tick-lists of achievements rather than (mostly) luck.

mrsm43s · 24/10/2024 19:03
  • good health - passable, but with some chronic conditions. Not impacting on Quality of Life nor life threatening/shortening
  • big (enough for your needs) house - Yes
  • job you enjoy - Yes
  • family and friends that care about you - Yes
  • kids (if you wanted them) - Yes, the number and genders that I wanted and they've grown up into wonderful, well adjusted, successful young adults
  • hobbies that you have time to enjoy - Yes
  • enough money to be comfortable - Yes
  • a loving marriage/partnership - Yes
  • good self esteem - Yes
  • mostly happy/content - Yes, but I have a very sick parent that causes me a lot of worry and sad moments, plus I've lost my other parent which makes me sad.
  • enough holidays to satisfy - Yes

I think I'm pretty lucky, but no-one is immune to sadness and worries in life.

MaMisled · 24/10/2024 19:04

9 and I appreciate all of it/ them.

Differentstarts · 24/10/2024 19:05
