We're going to Ikea tomorrow for a few things. Tell me what else I need to buy that I never thought I would need/didn't know existed/will make my life easier etc.

The sweets and daim bars.

They don't do the big bag of mini daim bars anymore in our IKEA!

Was in during the week and bought napkins, sandwich bags, couple of side plates. And couple of Xmas tree baubles.

you will find when you get there you need many things that until then you never knew you needed

It's worse than the middle of Lidl for that.

A replacement cushion thing for my Mums poang chair….keep meaning to go….might even go tomorrow now!

Why the fuck would the OP want to buy your mum a cushion 😂

I'm adding a lint roller and pack of refills to your list OP.

And - this is contentious on MN I know - they have cheapy cheap toilet brushes so I buy a new one every time I go. In black, so I can live in blissful ignorance thinking it can't be full of shit if I can't see it.

Alittlebitwary · 13/10/2024 00:07

Oh no... Looks like I'm off to IKEA tomorrow too now!
I'm going to get some under-shelf baskets for my kitchen cupboards because my spices are overflowing but don't stack!

Anyone know how long the kids can stay in the crèche out of interest?

Redshoeblueshoe · 13/10/2024 00:19

Maybe you could pick them up on Tuesday

@soupmaker

say what???

mind you, all the better for me if they don't do big bags of daim bars I suppose! I think they must have crack in them?! I can't just have 1 (or 2)

I have a salad bowl that you put the lid on and spin it so it removes all the water from the lettuce, it's brilliant 🤣

Wooden coat hangers
Food bags
Tea lights
That giant bear .. I'm off to get myself one!!

DilemmaDelilah · 13/10/2024 08:31

Resealable bags in a variety of sizes, kitchen scissors, paper napkins, 8 dining chairs (but you haven't decided which yet, you need to sit on them first) 2 plastic dining chairs for the breakfast room (but you haven't .....). Some mini orange daim bars. Some liquorice. A BIG box of their ginger biscuits. Another BIG box of their oaty biscuits sandwiched together with chocolate. If you have primary aged children, a box of their alphabet biscuits.

And what you really REALLY want but they don't seem to do any more... is a cheese slice. One of the triangular ones you pull across the top of the cheese to slice off a piece. Particularly for brun ost which they don't sell either.

This. Everyone should have a giant cuddly octopus giving side eye in their life.

Their garlic press is excellent.

I really don't understand the socktopus thing—how is it different from pegging up the socks normally?

I'm attracted to the idea because I loathe pegging up socks, but it doesn't seem to save any time from what I can see.

Easy to get them all in at once if it starts raining. Or if like me you don't have a line and just use a drying rack.

WonderingWanda · 13/10/2024 08:45

Please can you pick me up a new socktopus, some sandwich bags, a stock pot, a new living plant for my kitchen window, some green hand towels and some new cushions for my new sofa....something that goes with Navy blue please. Also if they have that alcohol free mulled fruit drink in stock a few bottles of that, the kids like it at Christmas. Any nice gift wrap for Christmas too.
