I eat it nearly every day at the moment! Is it a normal breakfast or lunch for you?

A few times a week! I top it with chilli or tomatoes. Love it with a poached egg or smoked salmon, too.

Sparklyhat · 05/10/2024 19:57

This is so weird I literally never have it, once a year maybe. But I just bought this giant Tesco finest avocado reduced to 34p. I'm going to wait for it to ripen then have it on sourdough, mashed with salt pepper and a squeeze of lemon

Elderberrier · 05/10/2024 20:01

Yes I have it 3/4 times per week for brunch/lunches, sliced - not smashed - on sourdough with poached eggs, lots of salt and pepper and a seaweed seasoning I have. Yum.

Millennial, never tried it, own my own home Grin

@Ohright01
I'm like you, for the past 2 weeks I think I've eaten it most days! With chilli, lime, tomatoes and pumpkin seeds! Yum!

abracadabra1980 · 05/10/2024 20:51

Every week; I must have butter and salt with it. Divine.

SantaToSSD · 05/10/2024 20:53

Love avocado. Love toast. Have tried them combined but didn't really see the attraction. It was OK, but not worth repeating.

GreenMarigold · 05/10/2024 20:53

Never had it. I’ve had avocado once and it was a pretty slimy, disgusting affair so I’ve avoided it since.

smallchange · 05/10/2024 20:54

I bloody love avocado. I either have it in a bacon sandwich or halved with the pit removed and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar then eaten with a spoon.

If someone gave me avocado on toast I wouldn't be sad about it, but I'd never bother making it myself.

Starseeking · 05/10/2024 20:54

I've never eaten it.

Spreadthehappiness · 05/10/2024 20:54

I’ll eat it a few times in one week and then never again for a month . I like mine with sun dried tomatoes on top .

XenoBitch · 05/10/2024 22:16

I like it mashed with a bit of oil and lemon juice, and sprinkled with some salt and chilli flakes. I don't have it often as don't usually have bread here... but I bought both today after seeing this thread.

mondaytosunday · 05/10/2024 22:26

About four times a week - one slice seeded toast, one avocado with an egg and smoked salmon and a handful of tomatoes. Good fats, protein, and complex carbs.

catin8oots · 05/10/2024 22:27

I made it and ate it this morning off the back of this thread. Was just as jank as the last time I ate it a few years ago.

Never! I love avocado but I don’t eat bread.

AlbertaWildRose · 05/10/2024 22:39

I adore avocado toast, with chili and lime and feta cheese on top. However, I haven't had it much recently as they really are incredibly expensive where I am. I also feel guilty that avocadoes travel halfway round the world, so environmentally they are not great. They are a treat for me, not a staple.

Notstrongandstable · 05/10/2024 22:40

Cannot believe the amount of naysayers on here! Food of the gods although try not to eat it as much as it's bad for the planet. You've got to jazz it up with lime, chilli and seasoning though, I suspect somepeople here are just lobbing it on top of crappy bread with nothing g else and wondering why it tastes crap

mycatsanutter · 05/10/2024 22:45

Every morning on tiger bread with hash browns on top, lovely and so filling .

SallyWD · 05/10/2024 22:45

I like it on toast with marmite. Delicious!

BluebirdBoogie · 05/10/2024 22:46

Once or twice a week. Delicious and probably the healthiest breakfast you can have.

ViciousCurrentBun · 05/10/2024 22:46

I had guacamole on home made yogurt flatbread today, does that count? I eat avocado every couple of weeks.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 05/10/2024 22:52

Most weekends as a BALTTIC.

Bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato toastie and an iced coffee.

It's rather good. And the acronym helps DP remember to get everything on the list.

BenditlikeBridget · 05/10/2024 22:59

I had literally forgotten avocado existed! That’s going on this week’s shopping list.

BumbleShyBee · 05/10/2024 23:03

As often as I can - everyday if we have avocados in. But I am Australian and we are obsessed with avocado on toast.

TheChosenTwo · 05/10/2024 23:09

Maybe once or twice a week, on a bagel not toast as a brunch. Dd2 is the same.
we like it a bit mashed but still chunky, loads of lime, salt, chilli flakes and a bit of olive oil.
rub the bagel with a clove of garlic first. Tasty and filling. Dd puts tomatoes on hers and will also jazz up the mixture a bit more than me but I’m lazy 😂
