I eat it nearly every day at the moment! Is it a normal breakfast or lunch for you?

Never, I don't like them, I can remember them being quite a thing in the 70s I think and quite posh, M&S sold them. Obviously not so now

marmite2023 · 05/10/2024 11:54

Every day with marmite or Vegemite and sometimes an egg

JustDiedInYourArmsTonight · 05/10/2024 11:59

Avocado on toast, lightly sprinkle with Himalayan pink or Celtic salt, grind some black pepper (I find that ground black pepper that you can buy doesn't have that punch of freshly ground), sprinkle about half a teaspoon of organic turmeric.
To me this is my go to, it appeals to my taste buds, and turmeric is very healthful.
I can see why avo on its own might not be everyone's choice tho'.

Never, green yak.

gingercat02 · 05/10/2024 12:07

Never, avocado is revolting. It's only tolerable in guacamole.

okydokethen · 05/10/2024 12:08

I quite like it but it's better on non toasted bread so it's not hot bread, cold spread.

I'm put off though by being told avocado buyers have a huge carbon footprint as avocados are flown long distances.

Ineedanewsofa · 05/10/2024 12:10

Only if I’m out, avocados are too high maintenance to bother with at home

Westfacing · 05/10/2024 12:11

I eat about 3 avocados a week, not often on toast as am a low-carber. Usually accompanied by two fried eggs, or small cubes of feta.

My mortgage is paid off!

TylerEndicott · 05/10/2024 12:15

Never
I've had avocado maybe three times in my life.

FluffBomb · 05/10/2024 12:16

As often as possible, smashed avocado on sourdough with a perfectly poached egg with sea salt. Delicious!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/10/2024 12:18

I love avocado, but rarely have it on toast or for breakfast. Maybe occasionally in a cafe.

ItTook9Years · 05/10/2024 12:19

Never. As a child of the 70s avocado is a face mask. 🤮

Choochoo21 · 05/10/2024 12:20

I love food and will eat nearly anything but I cannot stand avocado.

It’s one thing that I even eat a small amount of 🤢🤢

Aussieland · 05/10/2024 12:20

I’m Australian so maybe once a week? It would be my cafe go to and make it at home all the time. Yum. Avo, lime, feta, sprinkle of seeds happy days (with the advantage of excellent quality avocados here)

coffeesaveslives · 05/10/2024 12:20

I have it maybe twice a year when out for brunch.

Okayornot · 05/10/2024 12:21

Never. Avocados are grim.

QueenBitch666 · 05/10/2024 12:21

Never
Love toast
Love Avocados
Together sounds gross 🤢

Comedycook · 05/10/2024 12:21

I do find avocado toast a bit bland and often needs to be topped off with something salty and crispy...like bacon
In that case, may as well have a bacon sandwich

ThePoetsWife · 05/10/2024 12:22

Yes but only with chilli flakes or sauce

Choochoo21 · 05/10/2024 12:22

I think it’s also how they’re grown too. I don’t know the ins and outs of it but they’re one of the worst foods for the environment.

Libertybells1 · 05/10/2024 12:24

I don't anymore - not because I don't like avocados but because of the horrendous impact their growth in popularity has had on both the environment and on the lives of innocent people in Mexico. More info here for example.

Inside Mexico’s anti-avocado militias | Avocados | The Guardian

The long read: The spread of the avocado is a story of greed, ambition, corruption, water shortages, cartel battles and, in a number of towns and villages, a fierce fightback

ffsgloria · 05/10/2024 12:26

Couple of times a week but always with something else like bacon, smoked salmon, feta, as so bland on it's own. Also add loads of lemon juice and other seasoning.

MissyPants · 05/10/2024 12:26

I like it with rocket, cucumber & pepper on, on toast. Only buy it when it's reduced tho.

Samphire44 · 05/10/2024 12:29

I used to have it a lot with chicken, sumac and lentil sprouts but then discovered avocado was causing me issues with high histamines.

Kittensat36 · 05/10/2024 12:29

Never. I love avocadoes, but it never occurs to me to have them on toast. I am very fond of Pret' chicken and avocado sarnie.

Generally slice them into a sandwich if I haven't just eaten it straight from the skin.
