I need a good crying film

I've just watched A Star Is Born (Bradley Cooper version) and it's made me a bit weepy, I need a good cry to get it out, what shall I watch?

Coincidentally I just found out Kris Kristofferson died a few days ago, which I wasn't expecting to read when googling information about the film I was watching.

Truly Madly Deeply

weepy from start to finish

Coco. A relative never married or had dcs. I mention her all the time and tell the dcs not to forget her when I’m gone. It gets me that not many mention her. A few others that people have mentioned but oh Schindlers List. Every time.

Marley and Me.
Ps, I Love You (I cannot get through even the first scene, I had read the book so knew what was to come 😥...)

Philomena, very sad.

Dancer in the Dark. I've never cried so hard at a movie in my life. It was literally painful crying.

Forgot about this one! So sad and really makes you think about the issues.

United 93. Never cried at another film like I cried at that one.

"PS I love you" kills me, the book absolutely took me to bits.

MangoRose · 01/10/2024 23:17

A Star is Born (newest version) makes me proper cry!

Others:

I am Sam
Untamed Heart
Me Before You

Also I found A Dogs Purpose a sob fest, I didn't find Marley and Me as sad as I was expecting really, I didn't cry at all and I cry at everything. I can't bring myself to watch the Hatchi one or whatever it's called, I cried watching the trailer and felt sad for ages.

I cry at loads of TV also, anything that's a little bit sad I am in floods of tears. Rarely cry in real life though.

A third vote for All of us Strangers.

I absolutely loved Bridges of Madison County when I first saw it and bawled my eyes out.

Then my (thankfully now ex) husband had an affair and I saw it in a completely different light. He ruined that film for me!

Edited

The book broke me, and I’ve never been brave enough to watch the film based on that.

Yorkshirelass21 · 02/10/2024 16:14

Schindler's List and What dreams may come

Schindler's List and What dreams may come

Each to their own but What Dreams May Come is the worst film I ever saw and the only tears it would bring from me would be utter boredom 😂

One of the only films I nearly walked out of!

Yorkshirelass21 · 02/10/2024 16:58

Mumteedum - I can relate to that statement 😂 I don't get Notebook and Titanic , I didn't finish them 🤦‍♀️😂

YesIJudge · 02/10/2024 17:00

Steel Magnolias nearly finished me off, because I have a Type 1 diabetic daughter and I just couldn't handle it at all.

thisismygrumpyface · 02/10/2024 17:41

Not much of a crier these days, but as a child Bicentennial Man always had me weeping. Saw it loads of times but not since then!

Land Before Time too 😢

Freakydeak · 02/10/2024 21:47

I'm crying again and I haven't even looked at the list on here! Nowhere Special on BBC iPlayer.
