What's on your coffee table?

I find these types of threads really interesting! A coffee table is, to me, a really "grown up" piece of furniture. Felt like my house was more of a home when I got one. My living room is probably too small for one really, at least one the size I have, but I love it and find it immensely useful for storage. I got it for about £20 at a second hand furniture place.

On mine I have 4 plants, a candle, a bowl with bits of wood, pine cones etc that we have picked up on walks, 4 coasters, an (empty) small vase, an (empty) decorative plant pot in the shape of a bum, TV remote, my glasses case, a hairband, decorative cauldron and pen pot. Some of those things should not be there but I probably won't get round to tidying it yet. I feel like it's a bit cluttered, even without the things that shouldn't be there.

A Thomas the tank engine track and toddlers drink - usually has more toy cars on it

It looks a bit grumpy doesn't it. Would you repot? I think it looks squashed

@Sethera, not quite, he's an f2 Savannah, you can't keep a serval or an f1 in the UK without a DWA license

He's definitely inherited a lot from his Serval grandparent!

5 photo frames, a vase of dead flowers that are sprouting new leaves, a pile of birthday cards I need to sort through, a tea towel and my son's school journal

I'm currently doing my thesis though so only the most essential housework is being done atm - no one has noticed how much I normally do despite me not doing it though, they cant quite understand why the house is so cluttered and dusty 🙄

Same, don't bother with coffee tables. I do have stools from IKEA though. Perfect for putting a cup of tea on.

it varies between that & nothing.

it's in a small space between sofas, it's on castors and gets shunted around a lot. I have too much 'on the go' to have 'pretty' things on it 😔😔

Oh my gosh!

Dirty coffee cup, water glass, whole nut, borders ginger biscuits. Remote, glasses, fizzy water, glass merlot, mouse, coaster glass of water

The one nearest to me at the moment is messy !

Coffee cup, tv remote , glasses case , post , 2 pens , note pad , eye drops , and water bottle .

Two coasters, a glass of water, a packet of tissues and a conker. I have preschool age children, so this is tidy.

No coffee table here as big dog would just wag/nose everything off it. Lamp tables and a big footstool instead.

Biscuit tin, tissues, candle, stack of dbds, water bottle and a cotton traders catalogue......I cleared it yesterday!!! Where does it come from???

DC2 Homework, DC2 inhalers, 3 pack of unopened tights belonging to DC2, nail varnish remover again belonging to DC2. And a pair of trainers. Unworn and yep belong to DC2.

Me thinks DC2 needs to come and have a tidy up!!!

@Crunchymum is DC2 a 14yo girl perchance? I was reading this thread thinking how uncluttered my coffee table is having only sorted it last night. I then glanced across at it and realised DD must have been in there for a while this morning when I was out

A catnip fish

A lighter, just for candles, I don’t smoke.

Table is only about 40cm square so is pretty full up and not at all decorative, loving the sounds of all your fancy ones with gourds and hand hewn bowls!
