DrunkTinkerbell40s · 27/09/2024 14:19

Ahhh what a wonderful wonderful actress she was. Working virtually until the very end. Very sad to hear of her passing. Will be such a loss to the film industry and all those who loved her I'm sure.

minipie · 27/09/2024 14:19

Oh 😕 what a career she had - right up to the end.

KenAdams · 27/09/2024 14:20

Such sad news. She's so brilliant.

SameOldMeals · 27/09/2024 14:20

I have a copy of My House In Umbria sitting here. I picked it up in a charity shop recently. I might have to watch that tonight.

What!

Such an amazing career. A loss of a true great.

EasternStandard · 27/09/2024 14:20

Oh your thread got me, then I heard it on the radio

How sad

Dragonsandcats · 27/09/2024 14:21

That is sad, she was a brilliant actress. One of those people you hoped would go on forever.

SomewhereAround · 27/09/2024 14:21

She was so good. She elevated the most dreadful, banal scripts, like in Downton Abbey and the Harry Potter films, where her roles were like 'act-by-numbers'.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 27/09/2024 14:22

Such sad news. She was a wonderful actress. I've loved her since the first time I saw The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.

devildeepbluesea · 27/09/2024 14:22

I’m really sad about this.

imnotwhoyouthinkiam · 27/09/2024 14:22

Oh nooooo. I'm literally watching Downton (for the billionth time) right now.

But what a life she had.

RafaistheKingofClay · 27/09/2024 14:23

RIP. I know what the PP meant by people you thought would go on forever.

SauviGone · 27/09/2024 14:23

Oh no, I clicked on this thread hoping it was a silly rumour. How sad. What a fabulous actress.

RIP Dame Maggie - what a woman, what an actor!

gingercat02 · 27/09/2024 14:26

How sad. I watched her in the Miracle Club on Monday when I was off sick from work. Such a great actress. RIP Dame Maggie.
