Hypothetically speaking if you came into £8k unexpectedly (and say you didn't need to pay off any debts) what would your fantasy spends be?

Toss up between new car/new boiler/house rewire/pay for someone to sort the garden/blow it on a holiday and keep saving for all of the above

GR8GAL · 16/09/2024 16:42

Oh the possibilities.
Ride on lawnmower.
Kitchen extension.
Custom walk-in-wardrobe.
A bigger shed.
Bathroom renovation.
Car upgrade....

I'd have that spent in 5 minutes!

KohlaParasaurus · 16/09/2024 16:42

A new range cooker, a set of decent kitchen knives and a holiday.

Nonnegotiables · 16/09/2024 16:43

Overpay mortgage. Or put into new car fund. Potentially 1/2 and 1/2

Neverstophoping · 16/09/2024 16:43

Funnily enough I did get an unexpected bequest of £10,000 a few months ago.

I was going to use it to have my garden path replaced and a small bit of landscaping done. I was full of plans and ideas about how i envisaged things. But having had 2 firms out to give a quote I'm no further forward because I wasn't particularly happy with the people who came out. They said they couldn't do the work until January anyway.

I was so pleased when I got the money to do this project but I've now lost the enthusiasm!

TheBeesKnee · 16/09/2024 16:45

I'd get the driveway done, as it's falling apart and is a nightmare to use.

If there was any change left over then a holiday!

CherryBlo · 16/09/2024 16:45

A nice wheelchair (yes I have wheelchair envy!)

OatFlatWhiteForMePlease · 16/09/2024 16:46

New car fund.

RaspberryBeretxx · 16/09/2024 16:47

Car
carpets
tiling the bathroom
holiday

not sure it would stretch that far but I’d try for all those!

j2qb · 16/09/2024 16:48

I wouldn’t spend it

pantomanto · 16/09/2024 16:49

hellswelshy · 16/09/2024 16:56

Hmm. Probably a holiday, or two. Can't think of any actual things I want! Maybe a spruce up of the garden and living room too.

mitogoshigg · 16/09/2024 16:57

Honestly, stick it in a pension, you'll thank me!

I would save/invest it for a rainy day!

PolePrince55 · 16/09/2024 17:01

Is put it in a savings account until I knew how to spend it.
Most likely a holiday x
