Naked people in town.

Am I being judgemental or what? 2 self styled naturists have been hanging out naked in my town, a man and a woman, and I do feel particularly affronted because there it is all hanging out in front of all the local kids and it was obvious people felt uncomfortable especially at the cafe they stopped in at.
When I protested I got a right mouthful and told I am "ill". But quite frankly I think kids should be able to go to the shops without being confronted by naked people, it's bloody freezing as well,.I've got 2 jumpers on.They are posting pics of themselves all over the local facebook pages of their "lifestyle".
The joke of it is I am a naturist myself but I keep my fat backside within the confines of my club and only go there when it's warm to sunbathe, enjoy the summer and swim - they have a lovely pool. The rest of the time I have my clothes on.
You would not catch me walking naked through the high street. A lot of us older naturists are pretty conservative like that.
I feel really cross about it and I don't normal allow myself to be bothered by what other people do but there is a bloody limit.
What does everyone think.

I hope this is not the new trend.
Mind you what ive seen some women and young ladys they might as well be naked.
When i protested i got a right mouth full 😂.

couchparsnip · 12/09/2024 17:39

They sound like exhibitionists and will probably get arrested.

poppyzbrite4 · 12/09/2024 17:43

Sounds like a kink. Some people get off on the reaction of others.

Spomb · 12/09/2024 17:44

What town is this? Asking for a friend.

PashaMinaMio · 12/09/2024 17:49

I’m afraid that by the time I shuffle off this mortal coil, nakedness in our towns and cities, everywhere in fact, it will probably be quite common. We’re nearly there already as you have witnessed.

My mantra would be “is it doing me any harm?” If not I’ll just turn away and walk on.

UserNameOfShame · 12/09/2024 17:50

Isn't it illegal?

Whatisyourfavouriteflower · 12/09/2024 17:52

I didn't realise that it's apparently not an offense to go round naked unless the intent is to upset and shock others. I would have thought the act of walking round a village or town or city naked would necessarily involve shocking and upsetting people so what they are doing must be illegal.
I can understand OP that if you are a naturist yourself this must be really annoying as it just feeds into the salacious and voyeuristic attitudes towards naturism that prevails in our society.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 12/09/2024 17:52

I suspect this is linked to their "influencer" or social media platform(s) in a desire to up views through polarised outrage and agreement debates and far far less about being comfortable naked or being a naturist.

DadJoke · 12/09/2024 17:52

I am surprised they haven’t been arrested. Public nudity is illegal.

Rubyandscarlett · 12/09/2024 17:53

Blimey do you live somewjere warm op? Wouldn't be doing that round here!

menopausalmare · 12/09/2024 17:54

A man drove up to two of our pupils yesterday afternoon and exposed himself to them. The police are looking for him. When is a pervert a naturist?

Beamur · 12/09/2024 17:55

Sounds more like exhibitionism than naturism.
I'd be calling the Police. I think it's an offence if it's intended to offend...
They're attention seeking and it's not fair to force other people to go along with this without consent.

MushMonster · 12/09/2024 18:04

This is illegal, or at least, it was till not long ago.
To be honest, I think to sunbathe or swim naked makes sense. Also, to be comfy at home or in bed in the summer. But sitting in a cafe? In UK, in September? Walking in the street? What is the point of being naked? It costs nothing to put on a pair of shorts and a tshirt, there, all done!
Me, at 46, I really could not care less.
A teen and young self would want to hide away if I spot anyone naked around! No way I would be cool with this.
As a child, I would have possibly asked million embarrassing questions if allowed to see the unseeable and giggle endlessly. Not easy for parents that just want to chill for a bit with a coffee!

TheYearOfSmallThings · 12/09/2024 18:06

You would get hypothermia if you tried that in London today.

Barryplopper · 12/09/2024 18:10

Did they sit on any seats in the cafe? Surely there's a hygiene issue with this! I wouldn't want to sit on or touch a chair that someone arsehole or balls/vag had been on

SinnerBoy · 12/09/2024 18:11

Hypothermia in London? Come to Aberdeen, it's a balmy 12° just now, cooler than this afternoon!

2dogsandabudgie · 12/09/2024 18:11

Are you in the UK because that would be classed as indecent exposure.

That's it exactly.

Sparklywhiteteeth · 12/09/2024 18:13

do you have a go at the other members? Because we all know naturists love a public beach, so we are all subjected to seeing their junk.

Acyrally no it’s not. Not unless they intend to cause distress. You’re acyrally allowed to her naked in public. Hence why naturists get away with that shit

I was out today shorts n sunglasses, others in the bus queue had on gloves etc.
Any hint of sun in Aberdeen make the most of it.

Mumteedum · 12/09/2024 18:22

What's the deal with the naked rambler guy then and he always ends up in court? Is Scotland different law? I would ring 101.

It doesn’t stop him though does it.

Sparklywhiteteeth · 12/09/2024 18:23

Also walk past any naturist beach and you see them with their friggen junk swinging around, and they don’t get arrested.

Oldraver · 12/09/2024 18:23

I came across two walking in the New Forest

We were actually looking for snakes 🤣
