Naked people in town.

Am I being judgemental or what? 2 self styled naturists have been hanging out naked in my town, a man and a woman, and I do feel particularly affronted because there it is all hanging out in front of all the local kids and it was obvious people felt uncomfortable especially at the cafe they stopped in at.
When I protested I got a right mouthful and told I am "ill". But quite frankly I think kids should be able to go to the shops without being confronted by naked people, it's bloody freezing as well,.I've got 2 jumpers on.They are posting pics of themselves all over the local facebook pages of their "lifestyle".
The joke of it is I am a naturist myself but I keep my fat backside within the confines of my club and only go there when it's warm to sunbathe, enjoy the summer and swim - they have a lovely pool. The rest of the time I have my clothes on.
You would not catch me walking naked through the high street. A lot of us older naturists are pretty conservative like that.
I feel really cross about it and I don't normal allow myself to be bothered by what other people do but there is a bloody limit.
What does everyone think.

Seeing as it’s not illegal and the naked rambler was frequently getting sent to prison has he managed to sue the arse off someone from wrongful imprisonment?

Naked rambler was done for anti social behaviour , as members of the public kept complaining. He was banned from baring his arse and genitals in public and then breached his anti social behaviour disorder.

it’s not simply illegal to get naked in public that’s why nudists get away with it on their beaches that anyone can see, it’s just a bit more complex.

the naked rambler was told he could go and bare his bits with the other nudists on their beaches etc,ie areas designed for the folks who like to show each other their bits,

“Challenging social norms”. Some social norms are okay and don’t need challenged. What’s the actual point they are trying to make?

Why don't I have a right to not see random naked people? If I'm desperate to see nudity there are places I could go to see a bloke with his meat and 2 veg out. So why should I be forced to see it?

I mean, it's just bodies. We've all got one?

Superhansrantowindsor · 13/09/2024 06:49

Grim. They are special clubs, beaches and their own home where they can do this. Attention seeking. That’s what it is.

Ah, so you wander round naked then do you? Your social media full of naked shots of you? As it’s all bodies and we’ve all got one?

Well a middle aged couple wouldn’t bother me too much but it’s muddying the waters and on this thread we’ve got people encountering naked men in woods and round schools. Sounds like the law on “intention” to cause distress is pretty unworkable.

twentysevendresses · 13/09/2024 07:08

I couldn't get worked up about this to be honest 🤷‍♀️ It's just bodies.

I am surprised they haven’t been arrested. Public nudity is illegal.

No it isn’t, in England / Scotland at least.

NewGreenDuck · 13/09/2024 07:16

Yes we all have bodies. Similarly we all urinate and defecate, people have sex we don't attend to those biological realities where others who DON'T, want to see it are likely to. There are people who like to watch that stuff and others who like to be watched, but some of us don't. My line in the sand is that I don't want to see random naked people, why does that cause issues, but the naked person doesn't?

Bunnycat101 · 13/09/2024 07:23

There is no need to do your shopping naked though is there? They’re blatantly doing it for attention or some other kick. It’s bloody freezing now so there is no way it can be comfortable. Surely they should be getting an asbo or something? The law seems a little bit lax in that area. If they were on a nudist beach then crack on but this sort of thing just opens the door to the flashers and other weirdos to get bolder.

That makes sense. Though I keep complaining about the men in the woods and the police have told me they won't do anything.

Beautiful3 · 13/09/2024 07:39

I'd take a photo and call the police everytime I saw them. If people object then the police will remove them.

BiscuitlyBoyle · 13/09/2024 07:54

I love this quote from the article.

And some simply weren't surprised at all: "I remember seeing some dude running down the [High Street] naked with his plonker swinging like a pendulum on a [winter's] morning. Nothing surprises me in this town."

SunnieShine · 13/09/2024 07:57

clarkkentsglasses · 12/09/2024 22:51

It's better than the furries and trans shit

That's a low bar.

user47 · 13/09/2024 07:58

We had a man doing this in our town, lots of people defended it and called those (like me) who complained "prude". Then he started repeatedly bending over - doing up laces, picking things up etc in front of the primary school when the kids were on playtime and people then saw him for the pervert he was. I find the defence of this shit utterly tiresome.

GrimDamnFanjo · 13/09/2024 08:17

I know of a couple who ride naked on their tandem bike!

It’s not every day you encounter a One-Eyed Trouser Snake away from its usual habitat, let alone two! I hope they didn’t spit at you … or wink! 🙈

They were walking toward us and did a right turn when they saw us so we looking at their arses while they hit footed it ahead. We asked DS 10 at the time if he noticed what was different and he said they had walking poles. We had to point out their bare bums

I have come across the naked rambler before as he walked more or less down our road. It was an odd day we weren't cycling back from school as DS would of grilled him. On the documentary about him you can see my yellow car passing him

He'd been reported and hot footed into the newsagents which is more or less next to the police station. He caused a kerfuffle as their were school kids in there

But yea funny how he happened to be around at school kicking out time

AutumHarvestGlow · 13/09/2024 10:45

Wow 😮 since when has this become a thing ? I've never seen naked people in my town . They are getting a buzz off people's reactions .
