The real stuff not Greek style. Haven't been able to buy it in Aldi for two weeks, tried Asda today, no luck, only Greek style available. Anyone else having trouble finding it?

What?! The Tesco Greek style is one of my favourite things to eat in the world, I eat it every day.

I can't bear the ones that are kind of solid. The texture gives me the heeby jeebies.

Me too! I’ve tried the real
greek ones and they just sent as nice (and double or triple the price!)
the full fat tesco Greek style is just lovely and lasts for ages in the fridge

Aldi’s stock has been up and down for some time now. Struggled to get full sugar ketchup for ages and the 10% Greek yoghurt has also been a problem in my local area, plenty of the 0% stuff though which is rank…

I agree their stock is hit and miss. Their own brand shreddies were missing for about 4 weeks.

I can’t seem to find Fage 10% anywhere. I love the Tim’s dairy Greek style though, and their kefir. No thickeners or anything and 10% fat.

See my post upthread! They don't sell it in the UK any more. From their website.

Pearsygirl · 11/09/2024 14:23

None in my local Lidl either ☹️

Tim's Dairy is the food of the gods. I love their Greek style yoghurt and honey one (and I say that as a beekeeper who has been used to buying plain and adding our own honey for decades!)

Nottogetapenny · 11/09/2024 15:03

Aldi informed me Greek yogurt 0% fat free was their summer stock and they won’t be getting anymore in. 🤪

Nottogetapenny · 11/09/2024 15:06

Greek style is awful, not a patch on authentic Greek yogurt.

geoger · 11/09/2024 15:17

I always buy Greek yogurt from our local Greek grocery shop - you can also find it in Turkish and Iranian shops.
We buy Kolios, Tim’s or Total usually. But the best Greek yogurt is sold in a terracotta pot - so thick you have to slice through it

MissyB1 · 11/09/2024 15:58

OK the plot thickens, just been to Waitrose, really hard to find anything that wasn't labelled "Greek style". Did finally find Yeo Valley "Greek Recipe", I was happy with the protein and calcium content so I've bought that.

You won't be disappointed. I get this when I can.

BIWI · 11/09/2024 17:20

This is what you need to look for in Waitrose

VimtoVimto · 11/09/2024 17:21

I buy either Fage 5% or Yeo Valley Greek recipe depending what is on offer at Sainsbury’s.

Yes sadly the shelf was empty. Someone in our town is hoarding Greek yogurt 😡

I have noticed this for a few weeks. Lidl/aldi/asda and little tesco have had none. I even tried coop and empty there as well. I got morrisons best last week which was the nicest I've ever tasted and fage yesterday, also morrisons. I look in every supermarket I pass and shelves are empty. Im in the North East. I will try M&S tomorrow as I noticed morrisons was empty again today 😕

MissyB1 · 11/09/2024 19:22

Just googled whether there's a problem with supply. A few people have suggested the Greek fires may have caused an issue with shipping. No idea if thats true.

Bummer - the Lidl Greek Style yoghurt is not a patch on their Authentic stuff. Not nearly rich or creamy enough. Hmm

I'd fortunately had a few tubs of the 10% Authentic yoghurt in the fridge but running out now Sad

Looks like I'm going to be forced to buy the Greek Style stuff - but it's really only good for home made tzatziki Wink

I might try the High Protein stuff mentioned upthread as a hopefully temporary alternative. Grin

Try straining the Greek style through a muslin (or even kitchen roll double thickness).

Try straining the Greek style through a muslin (or even kitchen roll double thickness).

That won't work, because 'greek style' is artificially thickened, so the whey will not drop through the muslin.

Jazzybee8558 · 12/09/2024 20:23

I always get mine in lidil and it’s my favourite I don’t buy the Greek style the texture is different as it’s not as good for you. But the last week they’ve had none and they always have a lot of it out. Gutted definitely got rid of it all they have is Greek style.

Jazzybee8558 · 12/09/2024 20:27

Justcallmebebes · 10/09/2024 13:20

Bought 2 tubs in lidl yesterday. No shortages here

Was it just Greek yogurt or Greek style they are both different.

Ineedaholidayyyy · 12/09/2024 20:29

I've had no issues buying it in Tesco. Greek style is horrible compared to actual Greek yogurt, Greek yogurt the 5% fat ones are much thicker and creamier. Fage is amazing, but Tesco own The Finest range, I've found to be pretty decent too. Again, has to be the 5% fat contents, not the zero.

prettybird · 12/09/2024 20:49

I never get any 0% far yoghurt - has to be 10% Grin

Alapotin · 12/09/2024 21:18

I must admit I don't like anything of the low fat stuff, though everything seems to be low fat , low sugar nowadays because people can't seem to control their eating habits.

prettybird · 12/09/2024 21:49

Just noticed that the Lidl High Protein Greek style yoghurt is 0% fat. So that's a No from me Sad
