What foods are you obsessed with at the moment?

I go through phases of being obsessed with particular foods - sometimes whole meals and other times just ingredients.

Right now, I'm obsessed with basil. I'll eat anything with basil on or it in, and I like randomly chewing on basil leaves while I'm pottering in the kitchen.

I'm also obsessed with alioli. Anything that can be dipped in alioli, will be.

I bought some linseeds at the weekend for a recipe and then read about sprinkling them on to yogurt. Linseeds in strawberry yogurt is now fully lodged in my brain and I'm genuinely looking forward to stopping by the shop tomorrow to buy some yogurt.

What's floating your boat at the minute?

I get it from a local farm shop - it’s like lemon curd but so, so much nicer.

I’ve had a chicken mayo sandwich and a peperami for lunch every day this year and half of last year too

Corn nuts and pine nuts. Get through bags of both. I'll eventually sicken myself.
On Saturday I had a Cajun chicken, bell pepper and red onion wood fired pizza from a local restaurant..... I went back and got one as a takeaway for lunch today!

tomato and nectarine salad - yum!

whipped feta and herb dip with said salad.

English muffin or oven bottom muffin buttered with ketchup, cheese and a fried egg. Sooo delicious!

Oo also, corn on the cob in their husks. Either on the bbq or in the oven. Sooo much nicer than regular cobs. Slathered in butter with lemon juice and black pepper.

Sounds amazing!! Need to track some down

O I also forgot the nutrigrain Raisin bake bars - they taste a bit like Christmas pudding. I don’t have them for breakfast as they’re a bit sweet and stodgy. They are great with a cup of tea though.

I go through food fads. It’s been extra nutty granola with natural yoghurt & mango for weeks now. Mango is really bloody expensive, so I need to break this habit 😆

lidl's goats cheese and rosemary puff twist things. Cant stop eating them!

Padron peppers. Fried till charred in olive oil. Sprinkled with salt.

Oh cauliflower and leek cheese too!

Ooo and my local Turkish supermarket sells amazing tahini dip. It's soooo good with a herby salad.🥗 .

Queen butter beans... currently working my way through all the recipes I can think of to go with these wonderful beans... which is pretty much everything. My kids are already sick of them.

I’ve recently rediscovered bovril. On hot buttered sourdough toast. SO much nicer than marmite.

Cucumber salads. Stupid TikTok

Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, chopped nuts and melted dark chocolate. Sometimes i add a crumbled kitkat.

I had the M&S mushroom pate at a friend’s house recently and it was lovely. Thanks for reminding me about its existence so I can buy some.

Watercress - having full on cravings like some kind of fairytale woman sending her husband out to find it in exchange for her first born

Channa chat - with buckets of tamarind and lots of pomegranate

Langhams sweet chilli sauce

Tesco sweet and spicy beetroot

Reeses peanut butter bar.

I can't abide peanut butter by itself, but this is salty sweet goodness, especially when fridge cold.
