What is something you will never do, or have done and will never do again.

For me it’s banana boating.

I went on it once, and the strap I was holding snapped. I went flying off after one rough wave. Even though I was wearing a life jacket, it still scared the shit out of me and I refused to get back on it. I ended up going in the boat instead. My dad was pissed off with me cos he thought I was exaggerating. So he took my spot. I took great pleasure in seeing him go flying. He never apologised though

Bungee jumping. Never wanted to. Never will.

Also skydiving. Nope.

Yep - these would be mine too.

I'll also add abseiling down some random tall building!

Colonic irrigation.
Not happening.
My colonic-curious friend went to some dodgy man's house for one when we were in our 20's. I've never got over her retelling of the experience.
I could happily die without ever voluntarily letting someone put a tube up my bum whilst simultaneously burning incense and playing me whale music.

Lip filler. Botox. Boob job. Wish I’d never done any of these. Unfortunately need another boob job to get rid of the implants I have.😫

many things I wouldnt do think extreme sports but the one thing I will never ever do again is go on a water chute.
In Spain working my ex said he wanted to go to a water park, seeing the lovely sun loungers by the pools I was looking forward to trying those, but my ex kept on he wanted me to go on a water chute.
I was a reasonable swimmer but not really a diver etc but in end I gave in. climbing up the steps I felt sick but when I was pushed down the chute I panicked lost the ring I was sat on and plunged into the water full force, banging my head on the side of the pool.
I came to in a first aid shed with several rather nice Spanish life guards looking after me! typical ex he was still on the water rides.
anyway after all that I hate water now and sadly cannot go swimming anymore 😢

I'm interested to know what you do for a job (curiosity!) but also whether you go back and mop the floor in restaurants/the swimming pool/shops. Because if you don't surely you are paying a cleaner to deal with your mess anyway?

69pbiryani · 08/09/2024 15:45

drspouse I had never thought of it like that. I am a teacher.

Never again:

A 'sound bath experience.'

Led by a very serious young woman with lots of vessels and sticks.

We all had to lie on the floor wrapped in blankets while she bonged and trilled and thrummed...

I am afraid I started giggling and couldn't stop. The deeper tones especially defeated me completely. Grin

Oh God. No.
See also: forest bath, hot yoga, cold yoga, any serious yoga.
I am a churchgoer and I have been to a wide variety of churches, most of which I could put up with if I had to.
I went to St Helen's Bishopsgate once (about 30 years ago) and even though going to church is important to me, if that was the only church in the world, I would never go to church again.

Please tell us what happened at St Helens Bishopsgate!

I’ll never get a tattoo. I’m in my 20s and I feel as though I’m the only person without one

Please tell us what happened at St Helens Bishopsgate!

It is (or it was, as I say this was some time ago) incredibly hell-fire and anti-women, talked about regular Sunday school as "this play stuff" (remember this was in the 90s when my experience of observing Sunday school was that it did include a lot of sitting in rows being told stuff - presumably not enough hell fire) and - I am an Anglican - seemed to regard being Anglican as a bit of a mistake and not something where you need to pay any attention to the rest of the church or any of their traditions, because We Know Best.
It's very hard to describe to be honest but I am astonished that they have stayed in the CofE unless they've changed radically.

drspouse · 09/09/2024 11:58

Ooh I've just read their Wikipedia page. Of course they are under "alternative oversight" because they won't bless same sex marriages, but they are also in trouble because they have decided that just anyone can carry out the communion (if you are an Anglican, you do sign up to having only ordained priests doing this), and they won't name their lay ministers who are doing this so they could be anyone and could not have passed a DBS.

DancingLions · 09/09/2024 13:04

Go dancing. I've never ever enjoyed it. I only ever used to go to clubs when young to drink and meet men! To me there's just nothing pleasurable in dancing whatsoever.

Go to a buffet restaurant. I have not one but two greedy ex's in my past that loved them as they could eat mountains of food. I think they're unhygienic and low quality in general.

Do the thing where the little fish nibble the dead skin off your feet! (DD just came back from a holiday where she had that). The mere thought of it turns my stomach.
