Oasis tickets

Helplessandheartbroke · 30/08/2024 23:56

So I didn't make the ballot so missed out on the pre sale and I'm angered that viagogo have purchased a load of pre sale tickets and are selling them for 600 quid each! It's a dream to see oasis in Manchester (my home town) and its looking very unlikely unless some miracle happens in the queue for general sale tomorrow... just ranting but please keep your fingers crossed for me

Best of luck! The prices on Viagogo are terrible, they were up on the website by 7.05!

We managed to get 2 seated for Croke Park, we got them at 7.35pm after joining the waiting room at 6.40.

Helplessandheartbroke · 31/08/2024 00:00

Thank you and congrats on securing your tickets! It will be amazing! These sites are a joke aren't they....

They charge the prices they do because there are mugs willing to pay.

people have been warned that tickets not purchased from the official resale sites will be cancelled.

Ye Liam put something on X about them being cancelled. I hope they are. It's the only way to stop the exploitation. People like Eddie hern might think twice next time

This takes the piss doesn't it?! I knew this would happen. Same happened with Taylor Swift tickets. I don't understand why Oasis themselves, and their management, don't take steps to stop this shit. (Same with Taylor Swift and other BIG acts that this happens with...)

I am sick of fans being ripped off to the nth degree. Making some people pay multiple 100s - and even 1000s of pounds for a CONCERT TICKET. Fucking disgusting.

Why are these companies like Ticketmaster and Viagogo allowed to buy 1000s of tickets and charge 10 times the original price?! It should be outlawed. It was NEVER a thing when my DC were children/teens (noughties and early 2010s.) I am soooooooo glad to be missing this shit!

It's all very odd and suspicious IMO. I do wonder if they are all in it together...........

Why are the artists allowing this to happen to their fans?????? 🤔 It's their work and it's their concerts. Why the fuck are they not stopping it?

And I am NOT going to buy it that they can't control what their management does.

Helplessandheartbroke · 31/08/2024 00:11

It is a piss take and I'd they do cancel the tickets sold on unofficial sites I would highly welcome this!

I genuinely hope that people who spend £6k on tickets have them cancelled.

CymruChris · 31/08/2024 00:52

Its awful that fans are unable to get tickets when they are put up for sale moments agter for inflated prices. I saw 6000 quoted!!
The presale was awful for me, I joined the queue bang on 7 with 3000 people in front of me, 5 mins later I got to the shop page and no tickets left. Praying for tomorrow!

Why? I understand the sellers of the tickets being cancelled but assuming people buying overinflated prices are just wanting to see the show, no?

Ticketmaster is the official ticket seller. They are not buying thousands of tickets and charging ten times the original price.

Nobody is ‘making’ anybody spend any amount of money on a concert ticket. We are all free to decide what we are willing to pay for whatever we want to buy.

Oasis and their management are trying to stop it, by letting fans know they can only buy tickets from Ticketmaster and Twickets, at face value, and that any resold tickets may be cancelled. Not much else they can do.

What source do you actually have for all this?

Official ones I mean not random internet ones

TERFtown · 31/08/2024 01:20

Be careful with resale sites.

A lot of the time, the seller doesn't even have the tickets. They bet on being able to get a ticket during the scrum and then via Ticketmaster resale.

If the seller has one set of tickets, but sells to five sets of people, they'll send the exact same ticket to all pairs and whoever scans them first gets them. It's hen hard to get a refund as the seller can prove that they did send you valid tickets.

Also, Stubhub and Viagogo both operate outside the UK so are hard to get refunds from.

Parkmama · 31/08/2024 01:25

What time is realistic to join the queue for the 9am general sale do you think?

YogaForDummies · 31/08/2024 01:53

I don't mean to put a downer on it but I don't think the show will even be any good. Oasis were amazing in their peak but they haven't even played together in years, not only will they be rusty but I think it'll be quite forced considering they are probably only doing it purely to make money, rather than for the art of music which is what most playing artists do to at least some degree. I say this as someone who currently lives in Manchester and enjoys live music, I just can't see it being any good at all.

But both Noel and Liam have been touring and perform oasis songs in their own sets - these are also songs they performed for 15 odd years prior to going their separate ways. I can see them becoming lacklustre or having a bust up, but wouldn’t expect them to be rusty.

They always say that tickets purchased through unofficial means will be cancelled. They never are. They said it for Taylor Swift as well and they weren’t. It would cause too much hassle.

Why will they be rusty? They play the songs all the time……only a few weeks ago at Kendal calling I was singing along to Noel and his band ……wonderwall, half a life away…..supernova …..the only reason anyone tours is to make money ……don’t worry about putting a downer on anything…..you aren’t ….no one’s bothered

Viagogo are just a marketplace. The tickets on there were bought by individuals and scalpers. Anyone can sell via StubHub or viagogo.

With mobile tickets this isn't possible. Once tickets are transferred to another Ticketmaster account and accepted by the recipient, the original owner no longer has access to them. Yes glitches can happen, but they are much less likely and in that event you'd be covered by both viagogo or StubHub.

Oasis have said tickets on 3rd party sites will be cancelled and they may well force Ticketmaster to go through with this, but it's a lot of admin. Only takes a few hundred cancellations to scare people off from listing them though I suppose.

I believe some Taylor Swift tickets listed on resale sites were cancelled in America, but I think this was only months before the show. I know plenty of people have bought via resale since then.

They are both still doing their own stuff and are amazing so it's not like we are digging them up and telling them to perform and they haven't sang in years lol anyway it's the atmosphere that will make it for me because you just can't beat that. I'm not even sleeping tonight because I just won't be able to until I know if I will manage to get tickets or not lol. I'm a 43 year old woman sat here all excited like I'm 15 again while my actual 15 year old daughter is fast asleep in bed lol she told me not to bother waking her up in the morning unless I get tickets so I'm hoping I can burst into her room with the good news haha I'm a right saddo ain't I

I didn't even get a code, apparently most people didn't.

I'm logged in now though

I know loads of people who didn't get a code. Including my university fiat mate who trailed around after them when we were at university and my friend's husband who has a massive (awful) tattoo of Liam on his back.
