This is really really worrying.
Surrogacy is becoming more acceptable as a way to procure children. Of course it would end up being taken to its worst conclusion.
This is in the US, but will happen everywhere.
The vetting process will be minimal compared to the profits that will be made.
The results will be potentially devastating and horrifying for these innocent newborns.

As a previous poster mentioned, we don't remove puppies or kittens from their mothers yet we do with humans. It's far easier for a man to choose to donate sperm and I've never heard of impoverished or desperate men feeling pressurised into sperm donation. I have heard of desperate women being financially coerced into surrogacy, one of the reasons why it's outlawed in this country.

The woman who carried and birthed the baby does have a legal claim, she is legally the babies mother until a court order states otherwise. Regardless of whether or not its her egg.

Unless you have children with your best friend this absolutely won't work. Raising children is a gruelling job and takes it toll on both parents, not to mention what it does to a woman's body. You need to have a certain level of respect and love for your co-parent.
