@Werweisswohin

"I would never post anything in support of the AfD."

Posting the AfD's published policies (of which I stated there were some I disagreed on) hardly constitutes "in support of".

I would say it is simply being fully informed of the facts on which to base your opinions on rather than basing them uneducated hate and uninformed prejudice.

Sure. 🤢

Not looking for any argument but it's an ignorant & completely uneducated statement to blame all men for ISIS atrocities.
I'll engage with you no longer just had to call you out for blaming all men.

I wasn’t in any way argumentative or controversial in my post.

In a pretty aggressive manner, you’ve pounced on my post and spat out insults such as ā€˜ignorant’, ā€˜uneducated’.

If what you’re looking for is debate, then try engaging with respect and a sense of genuine enquiry.

You can be rude, disrespectful, and insulting and shout down everyone whose perspective differs from yours, but – what for? What’s the point? Might get your adrenaline going if you’re looking for mindless diversion, but you won’t change anyone’s mind.

You’re also looking for disagreement where there isn’t any – ackowledging that it’s always men who do these things isn’t remotely the same as blaming ā€˜all men’ for a single incident.

You can’t dictate that everyone has the same perspective as you, much as you’d obviously like to.

EasternStandard · 26/08/2024 11:37

I can't see what this change in stance means in practise

Is there even an answer from central parties on this? I think that's why we're so conditioned to move on because it really does threaten power

Janesygal · 26/08/2024 11:38

Werweisswohin · 26/08/2024 11:33

No, you won't because I'm not a politician. 🫣

You said you think parties should reconsider their on immigration. Can you define this stance or are you unable to back up any of your bizarre statements because you "are not a politician" 🫣
Go educate yourself on these parties stances then rejoin us with your opinions because at the moment you appear very foolish!

And I politely repeat.. Can you please refrain from quoting me! I replied to you upthread that I would no longer engage with you.

Again – you do not have the final word on who says what to whom on a public forum. You have responded, and so will I, if I choose to.

I think you'll find you do nerd educating especially as you are making bizarre statements which you have been asked to define & elaborate on how you would do things differently but you don't seem to have the comprehension to understand what's being asked of you.

"I'm not a politician" is not a valid response on a discussion board šŸ«£šŸ˜‚

I've not made any bizarre statements.
I've stated that ISIS present a threat.
I've stated that the AfD present a threat.
I've stated that the AfD are far right.
I've stated that information regarding the AfD is widely available.
I've stated that immigration stance in general needs to be (routinely) reassessed.
'I'm not a polĆtician' is a perfectly adequate response to the question posed.

EasternStandard · 26/08/2024 12:14

Well it is being discussed and so far it seems this is going on

The general secretary of Germany's ruling Social Democrats (SPD), Kevin Kühnert, has rejected calls by the opposition to limit immigration from Syria and Afghanistan following the fatal knife attack in the western city of Solingen.

Why would you assume ALL people coming from one country are a risk, just because a small number are though?

oakleaffy · 26/08/2024 12:22

Not limiting uncontrolled Immigration is only going to fuel the rise of Right wing groups in Germany.
Politicians need to listen to people’s concerns.

It's hard to know what you want to see without an answer to how the stance will change in practise

You want change but it's a bit limiting to not say more, I'm not sure what the options are with this

ertia · 26/08/2024 12:35

@Werweisswohin it's a disproportionate number though. We've had a refugee programme for
Ukrainians and as far as I know, none of them have committed terrorist atrocities yet.

What would you do differently to stop the spread of ISIS & radicalisation.
What is this immigration "stance" you refer to?
Please define & elaborate 🫣

The AfD have stated if they get into power they will hold referendums on many policies.. Surely giving citizens a voice & a vote on these issues is crucial in a democracy. Referendums are so important, the electorate need to play a part in deciding how they want their country to run..

and from the Guardian, although a year old
now,
so doesn't include the Taylor Swift Vienna plot or the Germany attack:

How many refugees from Ukraine have plotted or carried out attacks here?

The AfD could potentially be part of a discussion, they should not be in charge of any discussion.

I'm not sure there exists an approach hence the non answer

But if politicians go with do nothing they may find other parties growing to take their share

Well then stop making statements if you have no idea how you would stop the spread of ISIS which is posing a huge threat to you, me & all of society.
Surely you have an opinion on how you would prevent young teens from becoming radicalised by the Islamic state?

They need to know & pinpoint where ISIS cells are forming, who's recruiting, who's radicalising, how are teens being targeted to carry out these atrocities.
