But could it be that something will replace smoking?
If you mean something harmful to health, then something already has. Something far more deadly.
Poverty. Which unlike smoking doesn't bring in tax revenue. Poverty and poor housing and stress. All 3 go hand in hand and are interrelated, and cost the NHS and the economy far more money than smoking.
Research published in the British Medical Journal) found that private renting (but not social housing) causes more harm to health than smoking.
I can't take seriously claims of being concerned about health re smoking when there's insufficient social housing.
Nor when there's a punitive benefits system and one of the lowest pensions in the western world (and talk of raising the state pension age so many will die before receiving it and also be in ill health due to poverty and being on pitiful benefits, because of not being in good enough health to work or not being given work due to age discrimination).
Nor when we don't have well-funded effective public services, or enough good job, training and education opportunities.
As for personal dislike. I agree with previous posters that the big clouds of vape smoke (or vapour or whatever it is) is more unpleasant than smoking. Although I've noticed some vapes are less of an issue so maybe it's the type of vape that's the problem.
