Thank you. Here’s my friend’s 12 week kitten for tax.

Thank you, cat tax attached!

No cats here. Please accept a camel.

Rummly · 19/08/2024 14:54

Oh goody, another nauseatingly sycophantic thread. How these threads manage to be twee and mawkish at the same time as puffing a government is a marvel.

Keep up the good work!

Failed last time.

No cat, but alpacas near me. They are totally daft creatures!

@Rummly "nauseatingly sycophantic" is a bit of a stretch given the comments on the thread so far. Is it the cats you object to?

Curious about the skip, hope Monet doesn't mind!

Oh I’m so sorry, I thought this was another Starmer/Labour love-in thread. Like the previous five. ‘Starmer’ in the thread title must have been an autocorrect. My mistake.

PandoraSox · 19/08/2024 15:05

No cat tax as she is out. But this was my favourite toy when I about 8. I lost him somewhere and still remember how upset I was. My mum bought me a new one with blue hair, but it was never the same.

And yet you repeatedly feel the need to post on them. I think you ❤️ these threads. 😘

Cat tax being paid with a picture of Mr Tiddles' arch nemesis Little Shit.

Loving all the cat tax payments.

I'm still petless!

I am however off to collect my DS from work now - he's 20 today.
I'm no longer the mum to a teenager 🤪

InMySpareTime · 19/08/2024 15:11

@Rummly it's a long running thread series that has the current prime minister's surname in the thread title. This format has worked for several years and several prime ministers, and is nothing to do with an endorsement of said prime minister.
We have a range of political views on this thread, and will call out good or bad policy from any party as we see it.
Newly elected parties usually get a bit of leeway as they settle in and change things, I for one don't consider that a "love in".

I may be wrong - and apologies for the vagaries of old age if I am wrong - but I don’t believe I have posted on one of these threads before. If I have it must have been once or twice out of 5,000 posts.

Rummly · 19/08/2024 15:11

That was to Notonthestairs.

Yet now you feel the urgent need to come and have a go at other people in some desperate need to make yourself feel superior or something?

Weird...

PandoraSox · 19/08/2024 15:18

@Rummly we discuss lots of aspects of politics on these threads, so why not start a discussion instead of barging in to tell us off for being "twee and mawkish"?

Piggywaspushed · 19/08/2024 15:19

Tiny cat. Ordinary sized ball.

Why so touchy? I see these threads again and again. They’re in Chat, not in some specialist board like Chicken Keepers or The Staffroom.

I can wander in and be righteously acerbic if I wish. So there.

Well, you can. Not sure it adds anything to what is essentially a friendly group of people discussing politics and other things. Also not sure about the need for righteousness on here.

Several of us have voted Conservative in the past. We disagree regularly and operate across the political spectrum, though to be fair, Reform doesn't really get a look in. When KS bucks up, the thread titles will still reflect the Prime Minister of the time, because that's our little tradition. Meanwhile, welcome - I look forward you seeing your point of view on these threads.
