I can wander in and be righteously acerbic if I wish. So there.

You certainly.

But it's not a good look.

Especially when you're wrong 😂

Anyway this is a thread to discuss what current government are doing. We are a group of people with all different voting opinions, who have voted differently this time and previously and who all sit on different places on the spectrum of left to right.

We discuss what's going on and our opinions of it.

The thing that's best is we agree to disagree when there's differing views and we don't try and push others down to get our point across.

It's one of the view places on Mn right now I feel I can have an opinion and ask questions without being insulted!

pointythings · 19/08/2024 15:27

Well, you can. Not sure it adds anything to what is essentially a friendly group of people discussing politics and other things. Also not sure about the need for righteousness on here.

Several of us have voted Conservative in the past. We disagree regularly and operate across the political spectrum, though to be fair, Reform doesn't really get a look in. When KS bucks up, the thread titles will still reflect the Prime Minister of the time, because that's our little tradition. Meanwhile, welcome - I look forward you seeing your point of view on these threads.

Apologies, I should also have said that that’s a very warm greeting. Thank you.

I suspect that if I do visit again, though, it’ll be highly infrequent.

Oh goody, another nauseatingly sycophantic thread. How these threads manage to be twee and mawkish at the same time as puffing a government is a marvel.

Keep up the good work!

Who pissed on your cornflakes?

Notonthestairs · 19/08/2024 15:36

So you have just read all 5 threads. Threads which you clearly dislike and yet keep coming back for more. That would be like me watching Esther McVey on GB News or listening to Russell Brand - why would you do that?

Saschka · 19/08/2024 15:39

Rummly · 19/08/2024 15:29

‘bucks up’?

Assume autocorrect for “fucks up”, because “bucks up” (sorts himself out) doesn’t make sense in context.

SerendipityJane · 19/08/2024 15:44

Boring pmk, I'm afraid. Popcorn at the ready.

No, like most posters I click on threads as I scroll and idle away the time. So I haven’t read all 5,000 posts on the previous five threads.

But from what I have read I think I’m right in saying that Labour fans dominate these threads. Along with cat pictures. Am I wrong?

Fucks up. I got autocarroted.

NoDishiForRishi · 19/08/2024 15:50

Hello all! Needed a little break from all the politics for a bit, plus summer holidays mean I'm on full time Child Entertainment Duty and my brain is frazzled from all the snacks and whinging for countless hours on YouTube. I'm still here though! No cat tax as shes upstairs but have a picture of Grotbags instead. It's the most interesting thing in my camera roll right now! Grin

I thought so. I was teasing. Gently.

Not particularly. Lots of us who voted Labour did so without really wanting to. I’m not sure we all voted Labour tbh.

pointythings · 19/08/2024 15:52

It's a shame you aren't planning to stay, @rummly. You're doing some sterling common sense work on the censorship thread.

Notonthestairs · 19/08/2024 15:52

I occasionally scroll through threads. I don't post on threads I'm not interested in. I certainly don't check 5 connected threads unless I am very interested.

Cheguevarahamster · 19/08/2024 15:55

Afternoon all. On holiday - so here is my mums cat.

Good to see some new people on the thread.

Thank you. What a terrible car crash of over-excited, unthinking public school parents that thread is.

SerendipityJane · 19/08/2024 16:00

I must admit, given their vote count, the absence of any dedicated Reform voters on these threads is an oddity.

RafaistheKingofClay · 19/08/2024 16:05

Statistically I guess one of us must have voted reform. Hands up, who was it?

I wonder if in years to come it will be like trying to find a Nixon voter in 1975 ...

cardibach · 19/08/2024 16:17

Definitely not me. Perdy would have had something to say about it for a start. She doesn’t tolerate the fash (or anyone else really - she barely tolerates me). Perdy cat tax:

My dad probably voted Reform, he's certainly been very cagey about his vote when it comes up in conversation. Mum voted for their independent candidate.

Yes you're wrong.

Not all of us are Labour Party supporters.

Some of are floating voters.

Some have tactfully voted.

Some didn't vote Labour.

Some of us floating voters voted Labour this time but Tory last time (and regret it 😂).

It's a thread full of people who are interested in discussing politics, our opinions on the political topics at that time and also discuss what's going on in our lives and share pictures of pets, flowers and random animals!

The thread titles have Starmer in them because he's PM! They've had the name of every PM in them as each had led the country. Although Truss may have entered and exited too quickly to get her own Wink
