Can anyone recommend a really lovely, long lasting reed diffuser please?

I know not everyone likes them, but can those of you who do, have any recommendations for a lovely, long-lasting one. I usually buy Valente ones, which smell glorious but they only seem to last about 4 weeks and they've dried up. They're not especially cheap either and I don't have a lot of spare dosh at the moment. Noted that they are hardly an essential, but they are a wee hint of joy that I like in my kitchen. 😊

Brooke and Shoals Sweet Pea and Tea Rose or Sandalwood, Vanilla and Salted Caramel have a good "throw" as do the Brooke and Shoals range of candles.
Lots of different scents.

I really like the SKANDINAVISK ones from John Lewis, just to confuse you even further. Øy is my favourite scent, fresh and clean.

The Valentte ones smell lovely & they usually have offers. Mine last about 6 weeks. Use fewer of the reeds & they will last longer. I like the liquid soaps as well.

Have a look at Rituals. They last ages

melonhead · 17/08/2024 18:55

Valentte are the biggest rip off ever! I bought a few from there after a thread on here and they are useless! The don't smell of anything. I bought four different ones as a treat and they're all just as rubbish as each other. I actually contacted their customer service and they were so rude, honestly save your money.

I always have Bamford and Aery diffusers at home, links below.

I also have a Neom one in a bathroom that I buy the refills for on subscribe and save, I'm not as fond of the Neom smells and they don't last more than 7 weeks.

I've also got a Rituals Black Oudh one in a reception room but it is my first one from there and I've only had it a month so can't comment on how long it might last.

Bamford last for abut nine months.

Aery last the same.

Weirdly I had the opposite problem with Valentte. The smell was too strong. This was a couple of years ago though, so maybe they've changed.

The worst one I've ever used is airwick sweet pea. It smelled so horrible.

HopelessAndWondering · 17/08/2024 19:35

I really like Stoneglow

SuperBlondie28 · 17/08/2024 19:40

Zoflora Midnight Blooms from Home Bargains. £3.

I don't know if other people can smell it, but I definitely can sometimes. I have a weird perimenopausal symptom of smelling stuff really strongly sometimes lol

AgileGreenSeal · 17/08/2024 19:41

Dunnes used to do a beautiful long-lasting French Pear & Lily one for £4 which to me smelled a bit like Chanel 5 but they have discontinued it 😞.

That's interesting, @DeclansAFeckingDream, I've been using Valente for years and have had exactly the same experience recently.

I wonder if they've changed the formula? I've used them for quite a while too and my newer ones definitely didn't last as long as the previous ones.

I'd agree with Aroma Works and Fragonard (Orange Blossom is my favourite). Far better than Neom or JM in my experience.

TheFairyCaravan · 17/08/2024 20:29

Chapter Organics. My favourites are the peace and the tonic. They last for months and months

Ediewasmypreference · 17/08/2024 20:36

Stoneglow from John Lewis last for ages, and a reasonable price too.
Jo Malone would always be my top pick but so pricey!!

spikeandbuffy24 · 17/08/2024 21:37

The botanical candle company ones are lovely

Margaux1 · 17/08/2024 21:38

Tk maxx is your friend

sofasofa42 · 17/08/2024 21:48

I seem to buy two Zara ones a year and they are. £25 I think. Last well. Turn the reeds over every fortnight or so. The basilica one smells like mojito it's amazing

Sheknowsaboutme · 17/08/2024 21:50

I also buy M&S Apothecary.

ginislife · 17/08/2024 21:56

localnotail · 17/08/2024 22:09

I've just tried the M&S apothecary one called Balance. Smelt nice initially, but stopped being able to smell it after a couple of weeks - and had it in our en suite so not the largest of rooms!
