Can anyone recommend a really lovely, long lasting reed diffuser please?

I know not everyone likes them, but can those of you who do, have any recommendations for a lovely, long-lasting one. I usually buy Valente ones, which smell glorious but they only seem to last about 4 weeks and they've dried up. They're not especially cheap either and I don't have a lot of spare dosh at the moment. Noted that they are hardly an essential, but they are a wee hint of joy that I like in my kitchen. 😊

Bamford are gorgeous, expensive but last 4x longer than any others

I can't recommend them enough, I use the Woodland on in winter and the Midsummer the rest of the year.
They also do gorgeous candles.

The Essence Vault! They do copies of popular scents like Jo Malone and their reed diffusers last for about nine months.

Another vote for Rituals - all great scents and very long lasting.

I get mine from Ashleigh & Burwood, they last a long time as I only use half the sticks and they sell large refill bottles.

Zara Home do a beautiful one called Basilica....it's in a big bottle and lasts about a year . The smell is like a very posh hotel vibe ...I love it

I have reed diffusers in about 5 rooms of the house. Love 'em!

I got this one from Sainsburys/Habitat and it is honestly the best reed diffuser I have ever had. I think they do different scents. It's the most lovely smell the minute you walk in the room, and it looks classy too

Next, do rotate the reeds ever few weeks, that helps as they can get dry.

This is my favourite from Ashleigh & Burwood, it’s called Tropical Escapes and smells lovely and really goes well in the summer months and I really love the black bottles.

I'm disappointed in the latest Valente ones I've had, they were completely dry after a month. I had a gorgeous Dunelm one which lasted about 3 months but they don't seem to do it anymore. Will check out St Eval, thank you.

That's interesting, @DeclansAFeckingDream, I've been using Valente for years and have had exactly the same experience recently.

I bought a couple of these. I really like it because it’s unusual looking. Quite delicate though..I did accidentally smash one and had to replace it 😬

CherryBombe · 17/08/2024 16:40

Don't put all the reeds in. I sell these and recommend people to only put 3 or four in. You will get the same scent but the liquid will last longer. Also periodically turn the reeds round.

shelosthertoenailatthebeach · 17/08/2024 16:42

I have a Neptune one still going 10 months in, and plenty left in the bottle

Alwaystired2023 · 17/08/2024 16:46

Neom are so lovely - or Calm by M&S for a less expensive option

OldTinHat · 17/08/2024 16:47

I was gifted a rhubarb one from M&S last year. It lasted three months and you could smell it all around the house. It was gorgeous.

If you've got an empty diffuser bottle you like (or any nice bottle or jar), just make your own with your favourite essential oils. There are instructions all over the internet. The 'reeds' are just wood. You can make new ones by snipping the ends off wooden skewers.

If you make a fragrance you like, you can then just keep it fresh yourself.

Blackcats7 · 17/08/2024 16:50

A small company called Hampshire Candles do the best diffusers I have ever used and they have some really unusual scents like Bakewell Tart and Parma Violets.
They sell via their own website or Amazon.

Me too. Have given up on them now.

Mary46 · 17/08/2024 17:08

Great tips thanks. Didnt find Valente great but the body lotion nice (rosewood)

AntigoneFunn · 17/08/2024 17:30

Esteban. You can get refills from JL. Their Cedre one is divine.

Marmalade
Stoneglow

Zara home’s white jasmine… divine. Always had it in the French farmhouse we used to go to in summer. I still use the spray at home. I love it.

BCBird · 17/08/2024 17:35

Clyde candles do some me nice reed diffusers.

frecklejuice · 17/08/2024 17:51

Wish someone had posted this sooner, I just had two Valente ones delivered today and at the moment I can't smell anything!

I want a house that smells lovely when I walk in!
