Some people have hilarious names for the telly remote

In our house it was the Zapper or the Button Presser

My nan called it the Wobbler

In my friends house it was the Bipper

The gadget. God knows why we don't call it the remote now I think of it!.

When I was growing up in the,50s,dibdab was nickname for a penis. Ours is the TV Remote,or the Sky Remote.

it’s a pilot here (as in flies the tv, I think i picked it up in Canada in the late 80s)

We call it the rimmer

dd3 calls it the moatkintroll lol everyone else calls it the buttons

The 'comote'. Just what my ds called it when he was little and it stuck.

We call it the remote. Mil calls hers the clicker which for some reason sets my teeth on edge.

The titty! No idea why. Or the remote more often now, which is a shame.

Mokeron Troll. That's what our 16 year old called oy as a toddler and it stuck!

We call it the Demote for the same reason!

Separately, we have an air purifier that flashes "AL" in allergen mode so we call it Betty after the Paul Simon song. It looks kind of feminine.

The ‘toy’ weirdly! Because my parents always used to say ‘it’s not a toy!’ To my brothers and sisters when they were small.

Have called it ' the changer' from childhood.
