What do you call the TV remote in your house?

Some people have hilarious names for the telly remote

In our house it was the Zapper or the Button Presser

My nan called it the Wobbler

In my friends house it was the Bipper

I'm very boring and have only ever called it the remote.
However, among my friends and family I've heard it referred to as:-

• the swivver
• the doofer
• the zapper
• the wotsit
• "pless the buttins" (this was my 2 year old nephew!)

It was The Dibber when I was growing up.

DH and I just call it the remote.

We just call it the remote, my gran says doofer, when I was growing up it was the buttons, eg I can't find the buttons!.....

Ours is the pinger. Told my dd when she was a teen that its real name was the remote control & she didn’t believe me.

The Jobbie. We have three: one for the TV, one for the Firestick and one for the satellite box. They are all Jobbies.

The Tele Machine (or just the Machine). It came from my dad.

I briefly lived with people who called it the click-clack...I got out of that living arrangement as soon as I could.

as in 'where is the fucking thing' (if he's not where he should be, he's usually sloped off down the side of the cushion!!

I live on my own, so no small (or large) ears to offend

but I feel guilty now, so I think I'll start calling him...hmmm....Motey. That seems a fine name!

@poppymango that's just reminded me, my Great Aunt (95) calls it the Zapper. Maybe I'll call him that instead of Motey?!
