DumbassHamsterSitterPerson · 08/08/2024 20:15

No, but I've never been able to.

GettingStuffed · 08/08/2024 20:16

60 and yes, in fact I can still put my hands flat on the floor. Not sure how long for as my arthritis is getting worse.

PinkyBlueMe · 08/08/2024 20:17

56 and yes but it can very much depend on the flexibility you were born with. I'm hypermobile.

mondaytosunday · 08/08/2024 20:17

62 and yes. I'm tall with length in my legs but I can put my knuckles to the floor, not palms though. I'm overweight not that fit but flexible enough for that.

mondaytosunday · 08/08/2024 20:18

Sorry posted twice 🙄

weebarra · 08/08/2024 20:18

47 and yes but I have extremely short legs

DoublePeonies · 08/08/2024 20:19

44, and yes.
But my sporty 13 year old can't even get to his ankles. I'd take his waist and not touching my toes over my obese belly!

ffsgloria · 08/08/2024 20:20

47, and yes. Regular yoga has helped me.

Galadali · 08/08/2024 20:20
  1. Yes. Fat but bendy.
StMarieforme · 08/08/2024 20:20

61 yes no problem

Of course it isn’t indicative of fitness, why would it be?

it requires no muscular strength or cardiovascular endurance. It’s simply whether your hamstrings stretch that far.

running tightens muscles so runners aren’t flexible. Flexibility is actually bad for runners as it makes joints less stable and more prone to injury. Stretching should be done to loosen and stop further tightening, but not to increase range of movement.

I'm not saying it is indicative of fitness but the majority of people think it is!!!

distinctpossibility · 08/08/2024 20:21

Assuming we're doing it with locked knees?

HandShoe · 08/08/2024 20:22

Carebearsonmybed · 08/08/2024 18:21

I couldn't even when I was in primary school

Same.

Oblomov24 · 08/08/2024 20:22

I can't, nor do the splits. Never could. But I can still, 40 years after school do a handstand, cartwheel and an arab spring.

TheFormidableMrsC · 08/08/2024 20:22

55 and yes I can. I do a lot of exercise though.

SD1978 · 08/08/2024 20:23

Nope. Can barely get them past my knees, but also aware I need to do something about it, may have to look up some easy yoga if that will help

Sorenlorrenson · 08/08/2024 20:23

I am very unfit, but can easily touch my toes without bending my knees. I think if you're able to do it when you're young you can still do it when you get older. Some people just cannot do it.

SusanSHelit · 08/08/2024 20:24

33 and I can put my hands flat on the floor in front of me and bend my elbows, and plan to keep it that way as long as possible

Namechange600 · 08/08/2024 20:24

Yes - 44 and hands flat. Probably hypermobile. Not that fit at the moment (was in past) and need to loose a bit of weight!

motherofbees · 08/08/2024 20:24

52 flat hands yes. It's one of my markers that I need to keep doing like being able to link arms behind my back and a yogi squat and yoga generally the more you do the better

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 08/08/2024 20:24

Ancient and Yes. Was never bendy or sporty but daily yoga stretches have really helped me. If I didn't do them I'd be a solid block!

Knittedfairies2 · 08/08/2024 20:25

70, and I can.

YellowAsteroid · 08/08/2024 20:25

65

i can get my hands flat on the floor behind my ankles and my head on my knees and do the splits.

ImWearingPantaloons · 08/08/2024 20:26

Hadalifeonce · 08/08/2024 20:26
