never been able too. Wrong shape. It’s good for me to try, though, I have to stretch those bits as much as possible

Mrsjayy · 08/08/2024 18:27

53 short and hypermobile so yes I can.

howlsmovingbouncycastle · 08/08/2024 18:27

@BobbyBiscuits that's awful. So sorry to hear that.

StripedPiggy · 08/08/2024 18:29

Yes, but my hamstrings can certainly feel it. Mid 50s and 5’11 so my toes are a long way away!

Marmite27 · 08/08/2024 18:29

44 and yes. My Rainbows made me show them at the end of term party. I was quite shocked by the amount of 5-7 year olds we have that can’t!

Purpleandredandyellow · 08/08/2024 18:30

37 and no. I'm fit though, running over 20 miles a week and strength training a couple of times.

Apparently it isn't indicative of fitness. In my case I just have tight calves.

Of course it isn’t indicative of fitness, why would it be?

it requires no muscular strength or cardiovascular endurance. It’s simply whether your hamstrings stretch that far.

running tightens muscles so runners aren’t flexible. Flexibility is actually bad for runners as it makes joints less stable and more prone to injury. Stretching should be done to loosen and stop further tightening, but not to increase range of movement.

shiningstar2 · 08/08/2024 18:33

72 and yes I can. Shortie here so not because of great fitness 😃

invisiblecat · 08/08/2024 18:34

First thing in the morning and straight out of bed - not a chance!

BobbyBiscuits · 08/08/2024 18:36

@alrightluv ah, thank you. That's kind. I'm actually very grateful for the hip surgery. It's not perfect but better than not having a broken hip fixed, lol. I just need to try and do more physio. But gawd I'm lazy?!
