I’m already fed up of Starmer as PM

Semi- lighthearted, I know it’s early days, but I’m not convinced of Starmer as an effective leader
He reads from his notes even when giving a short speech; if he really believed in what he is saying, why the need?
He doesn’t seem to have the leadership X factor and doesn’t seem to have a grip on the ongoing riots
Bright new start for UK? Doesn’t feel like it

Starmer is struggling badly. He has 2 options. Either follow a Rudolph Giuliani “broken windows” approach which I don’t think would be a bad idea at the moment or try and better understand the root cause of both sides disaffection with society.

Instead he has simply taken sides which is a ridiculously naive approach to take and one that will inevitably fail.

noblegiraffe · 06/08/2024 10:10

The MSM has clearly been given instructions not to highlight the incidents as it doesn’t play into Starmer’s divisive politics.

Why are you lying?

"Some" people always do.

Like just after Brexit, all the Remoaners were clearly struggling with losing.

Like after the previous couple of elections, Labour voters were clearly struggling with losing.

It's always the same, as to be expected really, people who don't get what they want are going to kick back in some way.

True.
Although I didn't burn hotels, libraries, CAB offices or loot shops. Respect for our democracy and all that.

As far as I can tell there are two sides.

The law abiding majority on whose side the Prime Minister is on and thugs intent on causing damage and injury.

If you choose a different side to the Prime Minister, then that is up to you.

Notonthestairs · 06/08/2024 10:21

I also didnt go on Telegram to learn how to make fire bombs or threaten to assassinate the Home Secretary.

Funny the difference in responses isnt it.

I’m not. Show me the Birmingham videos on BBC, Sky or other MSM channels.

I can assure you if the ethnicity of attacker and victim were reversed it’d be plastered all over the front page with people clambering to get the thugs jailed.

Consistency matters when dealing with criminality. If you can’t see that then I’m afraid your’re part of the problem too.

Notonthestairs · 06/08/2024 10:26

Well the Sky video has been fairly public hasnt it? Ive seen it a number of times.

Have you not seen the Birmingham videos? If you are an apologist for what happened there last night then I’m afraid morally you are no better than the criminal perpetrators themselves.

If you believe Starmer is on the side of the law abiding citizens then I assume you are hoping the police are planning to kick in a lot of doors today in certain areas of Birmingham.

taxguru · 06/08/2024 10:30

When people are saying "Birmingham", do they mean Solihull?

There was extensive coverage of Solihull on TV last night.

Perhaps people don't realise that Solihull is a town very close to Birmingham, when they say they've seen/heard nothing of Birmingham.

The attack on the man in the pub? Why haven’t they shown that?

What has Solihull got to do with anything?

Yardley isn’t Solihull. Nothing happened last night in Solihull.

What, like this Sky video where they were reporting and then were attacked by the man shouting Free Palestine who went on to try to slash their tyres?

I’m already fed up of Starmer as PM

No. That’s not great but it is “only” threatening behaviour and criminal damage. What about assaults by masked Asian gangs on lone individuals having a pint? They are shocking.

Notonthestairs · 06/08/2024 10:36

I imagine national media rely on their own film crews or at the very least film crews where they can verify the identify of the camera operator.

Charlie2121 · 06/08/2024 10:37

noblegiraffe · 06/08/2024 10:35

Here's the BBC reporting on the pub being attacked in Birmingham, by a 'group of Muslim youths'

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cly883p5yj8o

Still no video. I wonder why?

MSM take videos off X all the time. The video is hardly misleading content.

Notonthestairs · 06/08/2024 10:41

Not sure I want national news led by unnamed unverified YouTubers but you do you.

pointythings · 06/08/2024 10:44

Anyone going on about 'the MSM' is not worth listening to. 🙄

How many videos that you see on MSM do you think are taken by 3rd parties including members of the public?

If your argument is to conveniently ignore clear evidence of racist attacks then I’m afraid you are part of the problem.

If your entire view of the world is based on what the MSM present to you then you’ll end up a very poorly educated and ill-informed individual.

The Sun on line are reporting on it with a graphic warning on the video. It doesn't look like youths, these are grown men doing the attacking.

Notonthestairs · 06/08/2024 10:49

But the attack at the pub HAS been reported. The police have confirmed that they are investigating.

I don't need to watch a film of it. Just don't like I don't need to watch a film of thugs breaking the arm of a police officer.

Notonthestairs · 06/08/2024 10:51

Well there you go. The Sun are screening it. They qualify as MSM presumably.

Why have you pluralised a single incident? That's very odd.

Also, are you going to accept that this comment of yours

The MSM has clearly been given instructions not to highlight the incidents as it doesn’t play into Starmer’s divisive politics.

Is false?
