Crocs… are they worth the hype?!

It’s my birthday soon and I am thinking of asking for some classic crocs! I’ve heard good things about them - I know they used to be considered very ugly but they seem hugely popular now! I could do with some comfy slip on shoes. Are they comfy? Worth the hype?

Very comfortable but I just buy fake crocs. Last pair I got from Aldi in the children’s section as I have small feet and they were a fiver. They last for ages and I have a pair as slippers in the house and an outside pair.

My tie dye Aldi "crocs" I'm currently wearing were £4!!!

My white Tesco ones £6 about 5 years ago.

My latest new pair are pink ones from Asda!!!!

They are so comfy! Slip on to hang out washing.
Walk along the beach and can paddle without faffing!
Easy to drive on.
Great to wear to swimming

I was also not really a fan of them when crocs were big but got my original white ones for taking our bins etc.

I'm now collecting various colours 🫣😂 but they are all cheap fakes!

I was massively anti croc and then I saw a leopard print pair in the sale (I was looking for my 13 yo son who wanted some for his birthday) and I decided to give them a try as "gardening shoes". Omg they are AMAZING. I've now got several pairs plus sliders and sandals. I've got arthritis in one foot and suffer from plantar fasciitis. They feel like bliss. So comfy. Also cute with thick socks in winter. Love them.

I find Bayas roomier in the top than classics so n they are the comfiest of them. Echos also very comfy but rubbed for first couple of weeks.

Yes second this. Baya's are nice and wide!

This thread is tempting me to get some. I've scorned and mocked them so me even considering a purchase is a bit of a shock.

I got my first pair of crocs to wear in the garden and take the bins out.

My feet died and went to foot heaven while wearing them! I've got a second mid pink pair that I wear outside and they are delightful!

Comfiest shoe to just pop on and go!

TheFormidableMrsC · 04/08/2024 20:58

Here are my leopards! Excuse my fake tan that needs a massive scrub later! Love them!

Crocs… are they worth the hype?!
Mojodojocasahous · 04/08/2024 21:04

Love them - mine are hot pink and accessorised with the Pearl and diamonte gems.

All the cool mums wear em around here.

They are brilliant for kids for beach/pool/changing out of football boots for the car

itsgettingweird · 04/08/2024 21:09

Oh misc they are a thing of beauty. And I'm not even a leopard print fan!

Aren't they? 😍

TragicMuse · 04/08/2024 21:29

Hate them! I found that my feet just slipped about in them and they were really uncomfortable.

Not for me!

OhMehGoddess · 04/08/2024 21:33

I only wear crocs now. Have for years, couldn't care what people think of them. Comfortable feet are the main thing for me.

I think trainers are god awful things. But would never say it to someone's face.

Have never had blisters with them. I wear trainer socks too.

OhMehGoddess · 04/08/2024 21:35

WorriedMama12 · 04/08/2024 09:59

If you wear them out and about, do you wear them with socks?

I wear mine with ankle trainer socks.

mitogoshi · 04/08/2024 21:52

I use them around the house and occasionally to nip to the local shop ... so comfortable

mitogoshi · 04/08/2024 21:52

Also excellent for camping

Moier · 04/08/2024 21:53

My daughter has snapped her middle tendon in her foot.. waiting surgery.. she swears by them.

JMSA · 04/08/2024 21:55

I have two pairs of branded Crocs, one normal and one fleece lined. They're fab, so comfy and convenient to fling on for popping to the shops.
Only thing is though, I'm a size 8 and they make my feet look massive. Like, proper boats.

BobnLen · 04/08/2024 21:55

I wear them in the garden and in the caravan, I also have some fur lined ones for the winter

Screamingabdabz · 04/08/2024 21:56

I only use them for gardening but I think they look cute on kids.

Don’t get fakes. The original crocs are better quality and are made with a type of material that has anti-bacterial properties (I believe - might be wrong but my crocs have never got stinky!)

JMSA · 04/08/2024 21:56

Sethera · 04/08/2024 09:44

Sorry to hijack with more niche question - do Crocs tend to blister the feet? I am terribly susceptible to blistering, and I mean all over my feet - I can't wear Birkenstocks because they blister the top of my foot, on the instep, for example.

Yes, my Birkies blistered my feet this summer.

I'm sorry to say, my 15 year old got blisters from her Crocs this summer. It did happen abroad though, so her feet were probably hot and sweaty and wet from the sea.

polkadotpixie · 04/08/2024 22:06

I have a pair and they're comfy underneath but I do find they rub a bit on top because they make my feet sweat

PreciousMahoney · 04/08/2024 22:24

I've a turquoise pair with the charms from 2007.

Got navy Croc flip-flops about 7 years ago and another shocking pink pair of flip-flops last year.

They are the most comfortable items I've ever purchased. Wear the flip-flops out and about and the 2007 ones as slippers and in the garden.

The material the proper branded ones are made from lasts for ever. Agree with PP if it's crocs you want don't buy fakes.

Barryplopper · 04/08/2024 22:25

I laughed when my dad started wearing them, I still think they look quite hideous...but I own a pair and they are genuinely the comfiest shoes I have! X

longdistanceclaraclara · 04/08/2024 22:36

The most comfortable shoes I've ever had. I'll be buried in them. I don't care if they're ugly.

BoudicanDestruction · 04/08/2024 22:48

I love mine and have 2 pairs so far.
I'm currently looking at ones to wear when it's raining but I'm worried the boots versions will be lots narrower than the classic clogs.

hattie43 · 04/08/2024 22:55

They are soo comfortable. I have some for pottering round the garden , putting the bins out etc

I love those, are they lined & where did you find them?
