It's time for the Olympic Games for the Playmobil people in our house...

... and so each day I'll be bringing you all the action. Today is the opening ceremony. There is plenty of entertainment. Here is the King's Drum and Bugle Band, led by Drum Major Jermaine Jacobs.

Yay! @SoMuchToBits - thrilled you're back. This'll keep a smile on my face for the next few weeks.

Now the athletes arrive in the stadium. There are track and field athletes, gymnasts, tennis players...

... basketball players, footballers, table tennis players, archers, shooters, climbers, skateboarders...

I love this!!

... cyclists, equestrians, kite surfers, wind surfers,,,

... swimmers, divers, surfers, sailors...

... rowers, beach volleyball players ,fencers, boxers, judo competitors...

... and with the athletes assembled, King Athelstan releases a flock of doves as a sign of peace.

Former Olympic champion Preston Parke runs into the stadium bearing the Olympic torch.

This is a treat and then some. I can’t decide whether to keep refreshing or come back to it later and see it all at once!

... and the Olympic flame is now burning!
