... and so each day I'll be bringing you all the action. Today is the opening ceremony. There is plenty of entertainment. Here is the King's Drum and Bugle Band, led by Drum Major Jermaine Jacobs.

Did Norman the Foreman get a ticket after his dazzling victory in the General Election? I may have missed him in the stands at the Opening Ceremony. Does he follow any particular sport do you know?

@daisychain01 if you look at my first photo you can spot Norman in the front row to the left of the photo! His favourite events are athletics track and field events.

Glad to see that Norman has attended, and that you missed the rain!

I'd have Norman as an 800 metre runner in his youth I reckon.

I found you 🙂 loving this so much and much better than the opening ceremony yesterday. Will you be doing this for the Paralympics too?

@JewelleryCat there will hopefully be a short add-on later for the Paralympics. I don't have nearly so many useful sets for that, but have some ideas and will see what I can create!

Well these Playmo people are rather small! They can't run distances like 5000m can they?

I still haven't watched the real opening ceremony. I rather suspect that the Playmo closing ceremony will be quite different from the Paris one too! But plenty of sporting action until then. More sports will follow tomorrow...

Will there be any swimming pool events?

@petalpower there certainly will! You might have spotted some swimmers and divers in the parade of athletes.

Although I'm afraid there will be some Olympic events I've been unable to cover, as Playmobil just don't have any suitable sets...

They're doing breakdancing in this years other (and less interesting) Olympics @SoMuchToBits, just saying...😬

Yes, not sure our Playmo people are that good at breakdancing... but skateboarding is another matter!
