Edit - sorry can't attach the data 😒

Eh? Yes, indeed it could have been a great deal worse (and thanks but I don’t need to ‘research’ flu pandemics, it was part of my job). I wonder why it wasn’t a great deal worse? Any thoughts, suggestions…? (hint: lockdown, vaccines…)

Silly billy. Stating the blooming obvious!

The poster was saying that we didn’t need vaccines or a lockdown because the pandemic wasn’t serious and could have been a lot worse. Sometimes the obvious has to be pointed out. ☹️

Edited

Excuse me, but that was not what I said at all. I actually said I agreed with the first lockdown. And I questioned the efficacy of vaccines because, as we all know, they didn't stop people catching Covid or stop is spreading. So jog on, sunshine.

Garlickest · 27/07/2024 18:32

@timenowplease, have you got a list of dodgy funders for the British Heart Association too?

"Research shows that Covid-19 itself is much more likely to cause myocarditis than the vaccine.

"People who are vaccinated against Covid-19 also have a much lower risk of getting other serious heart complications caused by the virus, including heart attack and stroke.

"That is why the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) says the benefits of having the Covid-19 vaccine far outweigh the risks of not getting it for most people.

@Garlickest

'.. have you got a list of dodgy funders for the British Heart Association too?'

You sound annoyed.

It's not my list of dodgy funders. It's the AHAs own information clearly published on their website for all to see. But I agree, it is a list of dodgy funders.

You may be sure the BHF receives similar funding. They currently have £300 million rattling around their piggy bank.

HowardTJMoon · 27/07/2024 19:32

Classic conspiracy theorising. "I don't know where the BHF gets its funding or whether that funding has ever been found to influence their data. Nevertheless I'm going to assume that they're getting dirty money and lying because that confirms my preconceptions."

Classic tag-teaming deflection.

I don't think it's at all unreasonable to draw an inference based on the data of a US charity available in the public domain.

Do you think AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson don't make donations to British charities in the health sector?

But hey, don't worry about it. The fact that quite a few of the studies people have linked to are of very dubious provenance to say the least is not at all interesting to you.

Move along now, nothing to see here...

timenowplease · 27/07/2024 19:59

Also, I never used the phrase 'dirty money'.

That's all in your head, not mine.

HowardTJMoon · 27/07/2024 20:06

OK. You are entirely willing to believe that the BHA receives money from "dodgy funders" and that this influences what they say. Yet you have no evidence for this supposition other than it confirms your preconceptions.

Is that better?

HowardTJMoon · 26/07/2024 19:29

Do you think that the millions of reported deaths due to Covid were real or faked?

What about the millions of reported deaths for the Spanish Flu - real or faked?

Faked in my country anyway. The death count was all faked. The data is in. No excess deaths. They admitted they swabbed end of life patients, suicides etc. They swabbed end of life patients twice a day and that was our Covid deaths. Covid was hyped for the vaccine. It was always about the vaccine. Did you question when they rolled it out to children?

I know, was eye rolling that we have to put so much effort into counteracting all the you tube videos/ etc. Glad you're doing it, but it's incredulous that it has to happen

I'm making a reasonable inference based on empirical data available to me at this moment in time.

And again, as I said to the PP, I never used the phrase 'dodgy funders'. That is in your head, not mine.

It's fascinating that you're fixating on this rather than the obvious conflict of interest the AHA's data throws up.

Given that the poster didn't actually say this, you both come across as a bit intellectually challenged.

#When you dismiss someone who has had a long career in health education, and who was initially pro vaccination, encouraging others to have it, as a 'grifter', you simply out yourself as an ideologue who uses reputation smearing to dismiss anyone who disagrees with you. Disappointing."

I can't believe that anyone still follows him. Can you really not actually read what the truth is behind him, basically money.
The invectivin horse wormer....really???

There's no difference between you and someone who tells people not to look at the Cass review because it's transphobic.

Firealarm1414 · 27/07/2024 20:34

Calling Ivermectin a "horse dewormer" is just stupid. It's a drug that is widely used in humans, not just animals. I don't know if it works for covid but I don't know why people are so afraid of it doing so. Bit weird

Are you aware Ivermectin is on the WHO's list of essential medicines and the guys who discovered it won the Nobel Prize? It is an extremely safe and effective drug and hundreds of millions of prescriptions are given out each year.

I was very much a “follow the science” type and ignored any anti vaxx comments, but started to change when three people I knew died - one of suicide, one in a car crash, one a long drawn out death due to cancer that was diagnosed well before Covid.
All of these had covid stated as a reason of death. None of them had covid. None of their deaths had anything to do with covid. The skewing of numbers was obvious and disgusting.

I get pissed off when posters call Dr John Campbell a grifter, he was the darling of MN as he was no nonsense and translated information from various sources into easily understood terms. He mentioned anomalies as and when he found them, and you could see him get more and more concerned and distressed about what he was finding. It didn’t fit with the approved script though.

It’s all been a bit George Orwell for me. “Eastasia has always been at war with Oceania”. I’m just surprised at how many have fallen for it hook line and sinker.

"No mainstream media covered or reported it. To this day the vast majority of people know nothing about this."

As an reporter who works In the mainstream media, it probably hasn't been reported because there's not enough heft or evidence behind the claims.

Most of my colleagues are massive egoists who would climb over their dead grandma to get a scoop. There is no way they'd ignore a huge story with the potential to bring down institutions, governments or high profile people.

How come you think there's no evidence?

Alltheyearround · 27/07/2024 21:24

timenowplease · 25/07/2024 11:15

Because the research in Wuhan was funded by Fauci and the NIH. This is not even a theory. They were doing gain of function research which they shouldn't have been doing.

What's gain of function?

@sanogo what's your theory about the cattle?

Also do we really have big cats roaming the UK?

Barbadossunset · 27/07/2024 21:28

Also do we really have big cats roaming the UK

I’ve wondered about that. Surely since practically everyone nowadays has surveillance equipment that the Stasi could only dream of, someone would’ve taken a convincing photo by now.

OK so what would be the point of faking death counts and how would thousands of people be involved and not whistleblow?

What would be the point - £ for the vaccine creators?

Gain of function is basically engineering a virus in order to make it as infectious and dangerous as possible.

Yes. So many accounts of people who genuinely think they have seen one. And farmers with dead sheep/cows where they have been savaged but farmer doesn't think its dogs (I live in a rural quite wild area and I hear of this from time to time).

But you think there would be more physical evidence e.g. someone finds a dead panther now and again. And like you say - drones, phone cams, dash cams etc etc. Maybe we should have a national big cat surveillance weekend...? Like the garden bird one the RSPB does, but scarier?
