Have you ever been to a concert alone?

I'm not a regular concert go-er. But, me, dh and a couple of friends had tickets to see Springsteen. I was looking forward to it. I'm a fan, not a massive fan I don't know all his stuff or anything, but have always liked him. The travel is a pain, but it would have been a good night out.

Long story short, through no fault of anyone, the friends can't now go, and our childcare has completely fallen through. There's no point getting in to it here, but suffice to say several events have coincided to properly scupper our plans. We put the tickets up for sale. And of <course> three out of four have sold. The price of the last one is dropped right down but it's unlikely a single ticket will be popular...

I'm really annoyed to have lost money and a night out, but it struck me today - maybe I should go alone. Then I quickly convinced myself I can't possibly do that. The travel, the weirdness of being in there alone, completely out of my comfort zone etc. But I know it's possible, and I would likely never see him concert again and I've never been to a stadium gig. I just can't muster the confidence to do it ☹️ Would you do it?

Glad you had a great time OP. Ready to plan your next solo gig yet? That gig high is worth it every time. Grin

Yeah it's like getting a tattooo... you've done it once, now the urge keeps coming back again and again.

The band were incredible. Every one of them.

We got home at 1am!!

If you ever have to drive (we had no choice...came down from the Midlands, no trains & DH having to work today so couldn't stay overnight). We booked a space on JustPark - it was a random person's driveway, 15 mins walk from the stadium but meant we didn't have to queue for hours to get out of the car parks!!!!! And no long lines of traffic - just on to the A40 within minutes. Win Win!!!

I went to see Elton John on my own. My DSis and SIL got tickets, and I fancied going as well so bought a single resale ticket from Facebook. I did travel to the stadium with them but didn't see them until hours after the end of the concert because the phone network was awful. I loved it. The people around me were super interested in me being on my own (not creepy, just really friendly) and I had a blast. I didn't get a drink, so didn't have to worry about queuing or then needing the loo. I'd definitely do it again
