Have you been to a place no one else has been to? AGAIN!

Hi

Someone mentioned enjoying this thread so I thought I'd do another one. IIRC you had to post three places and other MNers said if they'd been there. If they hadn't, you won my undying respect.

No impossible places like the inside of a nuclear reactor this time. As small as a pub, as big as a country.

I'll start:

Tikal, Guatemala
Alice Springs, Australia (easy one!)
Jinja, Uganda

GO!

@MrsTerryPratchett. It's a morning at best near a town with not a lot to recommend it. However, Riga is nearby and is a party town with a lovely beach nearby. I'm very fond of the Baltic States

whatsappdoc · 23/07/2024 21:35

That sounds an amazing experience @rightoguvnor

Tarkan · 23/07/2024 21:37

The ghost town/mine of Treadwell in Alaska and the nearby Savikko Park (also known as Sandy Beach) where old china dishes from lost houses wash up on the beach

Douglas Island in Juneau, Alaska (I know others may have been to the downtown area of Juneau but I don't know if anyone would have been across the Gastineau Channel)

Auke Bay, Alaska

And since I'm hoping most people go there in cruise ships: Juneau International Airport (and bonus points for Ketchikan airport which I had on the way there and Sitka airport on the way home)

I don't get to travel much but Alaska was amazing. 😁

Backstage with the Foo Fighters isn't a place. But backstage at Glastonbury would be. Where I have been. Grin

Me too! Many years of working at festivals. I’ve served my time thank god.

Sadly not :( I was nmbr 1 and he went for the middle one. They went to Dublin and didn’t get on… I like to think he is still pining after me :). 😂😂

Maybe you could pitch ‘Blind Date - the One that Got Away’ as a new Saturday night show?

I’d watch it 🤣

😂😂 I think if Strictly loses its slot, this could be the Saturday prime time show …

Ilovetea33 · 25/07/2024 06:03

I've been to North Cape (very foggy}, East Berlin, on a tour of the United Nations, of the White House and of the Houses of Parliament, Luxembourg many times because a friend of mine lives there, Philips in Eindhoven, the World Trade Center, Fingal's Cave, Bunratty Castle and Iceland in 1980.
I give you
Ponte di Legno in Lombardy
the island of Eigg in Scotland
Vaison-la-Romaine.

Amanda Holden could be on this show. She went on when she was very young, and the picker didn’t choose her.
