Things I never thought I would find sexy in a partner....

Udonoodles4Tea · 15/07/2024 14:00

Context: I have a new(ish) fella after 16 years of being with a total and utter twat.
I am finding some of the things that he does so so sexy.....

  • he can pack shopping properly, no misshapen bread at the bottom of the bag, no squashed sausages, refrigerated stuff all in one bag together and food separated from cleaning products.
  • he really knows how to do laundry - I am talking colour sorting, lovely scented detergents, looking at the care labels...Nice. Fluffy. Towels.
I mean, there are loads more things but I am a little too excited to mention them right now... Me in my 20s would be utterly confused, but in my 40s I honestly cannot get enough of the man.

I can't help but wonder if other MN Posters have had a similar shift in their tastes over the last 20 years?

This is the best thread I've ever seen op!
Yes to being a passenger princess, I love it! If my dh has to brake hard, he always instinctively puts his arm across me so I don't get pushed forward. Dont even get me started on my dh ironing! Lord can that man iron! He always does it shirtless aswell!

Paying regularly into a pension and a stocks and shares ISA.

Financial planning for the future = full-speed fanny gallops.

Udonoodles4Tea · 15/07/2024 14:51

@CCornedBeef451 I was absolutely floored by it. Can't stop telling my friends about how wonderful he is because he didn't manhandle and ultimately my nectarines

full-speed fanny gallops 😂😂😂

Udonoodles4Tea · 15/07/2024 14:55

@TheNuthatch thank you! I was ready to be told off having low standards 😂 the instinctive protection arm when heavily braking is another one. So nice!

Full speed fanny gallops for a decent pension is absolutely what we're into on this thread!

It's just watching someone who's good at what they're doing. Someone who's capable and competent. A million extra marks for someone who thinks ahead, too.

I think @MouMounjaroUser is really hitting the nail on the head here. Just doing something well because you are able and competent without ego or oneupmanship or point scoring.

Love this 😂

Another couple:

  • he always drives and I actually love being a passenger princess. He reaches over and puts his hand on my thigh or holds my hand whilst driving (not gropey, just nice) and I am like jelly 😂
  • also a car journey one, he always has bottles of water, cans of pepsi max, sun cream, umbrellas and hand sanitiser wipes in the car and when we go out for the day he makes sure there are plenty of places with toilets / tea and coffee options along the way

The hand on the thigh is what I miss. Latterly, my late husband wasn’t allowed to drive - he’d had a stroke. I’d get the hand in the thigh while I was driving. Very comforting and reassuring,

Cattery · 15/07/2024 15:00

Is fantastic at critical thinking. Makes me aware of stuff in the world I’d never have thought of. Not afraid to stand his ground. Looks after all the finances.

Powderblue1 · 15/07/2024 15:02

Honestly I've started finding my husband's masculine traits so sexy just now. I always used to be like 'I can carry my own case it's fine'. Now I happily let him carry the heavy bags and perve on him while he does it 😂

Blackcats7 · 15/07/2024 15:02

It is about a man being a competent adult. It is so rare that when we find one we become excited.

Filletsteak · 15/07/2024 15:04

Reversing the car perfectly into a space whilst looking back with his arm over the passenger seat, don't know why but it's so sexy!

Also agree about the hand holding, and when he kisses me on the head, makes me feel like a gooey princess 👸

I found that a hairy, freshly showered man in my bed when I had shaved and exfoliated absolutely knocked me for six. Really incredible sex. He was strong, overweight, but so loving and sensuous that none of that mattered. All over now, but God, the memories.

On, not in!

Ones who do stuff (this is how awful dating has been for me...)
Like go to the GP about their gammy toenail or actually see the dental hygienist so they have nice breath...

I was with you until the sun cream, hand sanitiser etc but that's giving me a bit of the ick 😐

DonnyDoris · 15/07/2024 15:25

When we're walking down the street and he makes sure i'm on the inside to keep me safe!!

GingerPirate · 15/07/2024 15:57

Nice thread!
Husband is a brilliant driver (the best I have known), can fix anything and excessively makes sure that the house is warm enough in winter and there is abundance of food. 😂
He is 74, a bit like a bear 🐻, really.

Hecatoncheires · 15/07/2024 16:00

Another vote for reverse parking. Particularly if it's into a very tight space. We don't have cameras on our car do DH does it the old fashioned-way by eye. Every time he does I tell him that I've fallen in love with him all over again and his wee face gets all chuffed.

Ohmych · 15/07/2024 16:03

I get the fanny gallops when Dp reverses into a space

Udonoodles4Tea · 15/07/2024 16:05

Who knew reversing was such a thing?!
