No more in information as of yet. His poor family

BobbyBiscuits · 15/07/2024 13:59

@Billyballyboo but that's nothing to do with what happened in Tenerife? I'm not saying he's an angel, but they made him out to be a high up drug lord or something. He was just a kid who made mistakes, and turned his life around.

TheHuntSyndicate · 15/07/2024 13:59

The moral of the sad tale is if you go out with friends, especially in a foreign country where you are going to either drink excessively or take drugs or both, is to stick together and make sure everyone gets back to where they are staying.

Skinglow · 15/07/2024 14:00

Megifer · 15/07/2024 13:54

Ahhh this is sad, he was a kid on his first holiday and had people around him who werent looking out for him generally, no wonder he had a bit of a questionable past (as did the lad who was attacked by the gang Jay was with).

To think they must have been so close if they were looking near where his phones last location was. His poor Dad he seemed like the only genuine one.

Do you know his other family then? Or have you just been reading the gossip?

LlynTegid · 15/07/2024 14:00

The only positive is at least a funeral can be held and some closure for the family.

@Idealidealist erm a conversation? I'm stuck at home with 2 under two, they don't seem that interested talking about the current news with me!

I would call a teenager with a conviction for cracking someone’s head open with a machete morally bankrupt though…

According to the Manchester Evening News, the gang members laughed and joked throughout the trial.

Judge Philip Parry addressed the defendants, stating, "You should all eight be thoroughly ashamed of yourselves but I am not at all convinced you are.

Sounds lush.

oakleaffy · 15/07/2024 14:01

It seemed obvious from the outset that someone dehydrated, and hung over without strong hiking boots and protective gear would be more likely injured and succumbed to exposure.

That is severe terrain for an inexperienced walker.

Poor Jay. {Or whoever it is}.

BobbyBiscuits · 15/07/2024 13:45

I could not understand the mad conspiracies around it. Look at Michael Mosely. Same situation, got lost in the heat and collapsed. But the poor lads life was disected like he was some arch criminal or something.
At least they will have closure. So sad.

He attacked another young man with a machete and then laughed about it in court, showing no remorse. He was a criminal.

gotmyknickersinatwist · 15/07/2024 14:02

Billyballyboo · 15/07/2024 13:46

But he was a criminal. And taking drugs. Not exactly a choir boy.

So? A drug-taking criminal lost his life in a tragic accident, yet he deserves to be vilified?
I started to read one thread about him here shortly after he went missing. It was before the Gofundme furore & conspiracy theories peaked. It was horrible, so many posters slagging off this lad & his 'scumbag' family, yet there was so much concern, hope, love, prayer & ultimately sadness over MM's disappearance & death. I was a bit shocked by the turn that thread had taken. It was despicable.

CandiedPrincess · 15/07/2024 13:51

Nah still something not right. Found the body near where he was last pinged? Seriously? The whole place is corrupt, the civil guard will be in on this.

Calm down!

CandiedPrincess · 15/07/2024 14:03

OhHelloMiss · 15/07/2024 14:03

Err, cheers, but I don't have to? Last time I checked this was a discussion board?

Lopine · 15/07/2024 14:03

PossumintheHouse · 15/07/2024 13:52

And here we gooooo...

Yes. Feeling sorry for his family.

I know the area and it is very challenging terrain without adding on the additional challenges that come with extreme heat and being ill equipped.

Skinglow · 15/07/2024 14:04

I'm sure the trolls and piss takers will soon find another tragic event to latch onto.

He was convicted and sentenced for a violent machete attack on a boy with special needs. That's morally bankrupt.

I saw a few posts saying he had SEN but haven't seen it anywhere reliable. Only that he tried to break into a car, a house, stole a car, then sped through residential areas at 70mph before getting caught and then laughing at the police.

PossumintheHouse · 15/07/2024 14:07

CandiedPrincess · 15/07/2024 13:55

LOL

I'm allowed to comment. It's not a conspiracy theory, no need to adjust my tin foil hat. Anyone who knows Tenerife, knows. Surely impossible to miss a body in the last bloody place he was known to be.

No, not really. Tenerife isn't just a place to party - it's actually popular with experienced hill walkers and hikers because the mountainous terrain is vast and very challenging. There are many different walks and ravines. The search and rescue team simply didn't/couldn't cover it all.

montelbano · 15/07/2024 14:07

Yes it is. Depending on how he fell, he could easily have fallen into dense undergrowth or hidden by a rock ledge, etc. The area in which he was found appears to be quite inaccessible and would be difficult for searchers to reach of her a good view.
And why exactly would the Civil Guard be involved? Surely they would want a person found as quickly as possible if only to stop speculation, wild conspiracy theories, the enormous cost of the search, the Press roaming all over the island, and help the family.

BobbyBiscuits · 15/07/2024 14:08

@gotmyknickersinatwist Exactly. He did his time for the attack and his own victim was saying stop stirring and find the poor lad.
He was running in bad circles and changed. He's working as a bricklayer, enjoying his first holiday abroad. I think he deserves just as much sympathy as Mosely as the situation was so similar. Nobody deserves to die like that. And it could happen to anyone, drug addled teen ex criminals or esteemed and renowned 60yo Doctors.

tsundoko · 15/07/2024 14:08

I wonder what the family will do with all the go fund money.

LaurieFairyCake · 15/07/2024 14:09
