It’s been important enough to have been extensively reported on so whilst I understand that it’s distasteful to ghoulishly enjoy the developments, it’s perfectly understandable to wish to discuss them.

I think a lot of it is owed to the Dutch search team they flew out this week. Who knows how much they have left over once that bill is paid.

Well, the repatriation will only cost a few thousand pounds and the Dutch search & rescue group is a non-profit that accepts donations.

Regarding the Go Fund Me, I can't see her thinking oh I just need a few extra grand on the top, that'll will do and that'll call it a day (£63k for example)

I can see her ambitiously thinking, let's see how far this money can possibly go (£70, 75k for example)

To give her the benefit of the doubt, she probably feels she is asking 'for Jay'. I'd imagine she's going to put on the biggest most extravagant funeral she can pay for, because that's all she has left now. There may be some comfort in splashing out on 'what he would have wanted' and I don't begrudge her that. I doubt she will get rich from it. There is no great love for her or her family who have been judged as a 'type' from the get go.

It's nice to see someone be charitable towards her. I can't believe she's really that bothered about the money - she's lost her beloved son. I'm sure a lot of the £60000 has been accounted for. Nothing has actually been withdrawn yet but they've said it was being used for flights, accommodation, search parties etc so I'm assuming it will be withdrawn for these things soon.
I agree with you that she probably wants to hold a very lavish funeral for Jay because it's the only way she can express her love for him now.

Everyone has sympathy for his death and for her loss. No one should bury their child.
We can feel sorry for her and feel the crimes he committed were terrible and that some of her actions are wrong.
