It's coming home? VOTE

I wish I could have bottled that feeling of 1996 when the whole country went football mad, every other car and house on the road had flags and we were all sure it was coming home.

So do we think it's coming home?

Some predictions:

Someone will comment that it's past that 16 year old Spanish player's bedtime

England will have a goal disallowed due to offside

Now that we're good at penalties, it will not go to penalties

Jordan Pickford will be cross that he's expected to do his job

What do you reckon?

Scots aren't worried. 😬 As for the footie I've been supporting 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇩🇪🇪🇦 from the start - we all know Scotland are 💩 but I'm Scottish, and Germany and Spain are my two favourite teams. I think Spain have played much better than England and deserve it more tbh.

I cant see them doing it i'm afraid, unless they get a shit heap of luck!
Yes they pulled it out of the bag in the semis, but im not too hopeful..

Other than the last game, they seem to have mainly just been passing the ball around midfield.

Are the national anthems always played before a match or only today because it’s the final?

I told DH before the start of the tournament that we will:

1. Be shit, and
2. Win regardless

so I’m punting for a win tonight for eternal bragging rights!

Before every match.

DH and the DC are watching it. I am on the sofa at the other end of the sitting room with my ipad. DD (7) has just said 'I want to go to bed.' so has gone to get ready for bed. DS2 (almost 5) is looking tired and bored. I think only DH and DS1 (9) will see it through.

Why did none of the Spanish team sing their national anthem? They were all very stoney-faced.

The Spanish national anthem has no words.

My 10 Yr old said "oh they've got their game face on" 😂

I'm old enough to remember England winning the World cup but I'm not a football fan so didn't know they'd never won anything since. I'm now watching and hoping they'll win, surely they must be due something every 60 years or so😀

I don't want them to win either. Yes I'm Scottish but I don't hate England or English people. I hate the whole "it's coming home" from the minute they qualify to the minute they get put out. Even in Scotland we get English promotional items etc.

If it was other way about I doubt they'd have that.

God, couldn't Prince George just be allowed to wear an England T shirt or anything casual instead of a suit and tie on a warm July evening? Poor kid is only 10 and dressed like he's going to a wedding or a day at the office.

@AInightingale that subject has been touched upon on MN before.. maybe he WANTED to wear a suit, rather then not be allowed any other option.
