What would you spend £100-£500 on?

I've got £500 to spend as I please, on myself. But I can't think what to buy, maybe a new coffee machine (but not sure what type). What would you buy for £100-500?

I've been having the same dilemma.

Like you, I've toyed with the coffee machine idea. I really like the DeLonghi ones, but then something stops me. Maybe I won't use it enough, maybe that's not what I want to spend that much money on.

I'm currently looking at some luxurious cashmere, a Diptyque candle and some 1500 thread count bedding. (Well, budget wise, we're talking pillow cases) There might be enough left for a Dior palette.

I also contemplated a designer handbag and decided I don't need a new one. Plus I'm rather happy using my £12 Waitrose Lulu Guinness tote atm.

I also ruled out a mini break.

I know what you mean about coffee machines and whether I'd use it enough @RainbowZebraWarrior ...I like the sound of some new bedding!
I've just got a new laptop, but might think about some other tech, not sure.

I’d get some prada sunglasses for myself. And then pray for some sun!

Doingmybest12 · 13/07/2024 17:42

I'd have a couple of nights away.

AllBranEater · 13/07/2024 18:20

Sunglasses are a thought, unfortunately I can't go away.

A large portable power source battery…cire trudon candles, Penhaligon perfume, a mini break away in a sheps hut, a massage, wine,
some new roses for the garden

TraumaSalt · 13/07/2024 18:25

I’ve just booked a hotel room for £525

missfliss · 13/07/2024 18:25

A GHD duet or Dyson airwrap

R41nb0wR0se · 13/07/2024 18:38

Do you enjoy cooking? Do you already have a food processor, a stand mixer and decent cast iron casserole dish?

lazzapazza · 13/07/2024 19:02

It totally depends.

If you have £1,000 to your name then leave it in the bank.

If you have £100,000 to your name then take a day in a shopping centre and see what you end up with for the £500.

CrushingOnRubies · 13/07/2024 19:07

Either a kitchen aid or a cleaner to deep clean the house.

Or just live slightly more comfortabley for the summer holidays

FuzzyPuffling · 13/07/2024 20:38

New pure cotton bedding.

QueryADHD · 13/07/2024 21:07

£100 probably some make up

bergamotorange · 13/07/2024 21:17

A picture or tickets to a great play.

WirelessWendy · 13/07/2024 21:17

I’d save it and buy new boots in the autumn.

NancyJoan · 13/07/2024 21:18

Probably a painting.

Youdontknowmedoyou · 13/07/2024 21:19

For £500 ? A cocker spaniel puppy. ❤️
Or a tank of diesel and a day at the seaside.

PFBGirlAlert · 13/07/2024 21:19

Me too! I think I'm going to spend 200 on pilates lessons (10 sessions). I need to do something active and never get round to it at home. But I've never been to a gym before and am scared!
I did want to take a French conversation course but it's £485 and a refresher maths course is cheaper and might be more useful in getting a job.

Longdueachange · 13/07/2024 21:20

£500 would cover a couple of tickets to a West End show, a meal and for some areas train tickets into London.
