Wow I've just watched Kemi Badenoch speaking down to Angela Rayner in HoC today. What a nasty woman.

Yes I just watched that. What a disgrace to women.

She wouldn't be able to do that, if she didn't know what a woman is.

Thank goodness she knows eh? And can focus on putting another woman down so hilariously in her speech.

One of the most important matters of the day, shows true leadership.

I missed that and can’t find it now - have you got a link? Not that I need more reasons to hate Badenoch.

iNews is saying Braverman is expected to defect to reform. Will she start wearing an ear bandage?

Edited

She doesn't listen with her ears unclothed - I'm not sure it'll make any difference.

absquatulize · 19/07/2024 20:00

What on earth is she dribbling on about?

Notonthestairs · 19/07/2024 20:02

Badenoch offering tips for government! Heard it all now.

We remember the pigs ear she made of her interview with Mishal Hussein even if she doesn't.

And saying she will be there to say I told you so when it all goes wrong

CassieMaddox · 19/07/2024 20:10

Firstly factually incorrect to say someone born in 1980 was raised under a labour government. Especially to someone who left school with no qualifications and achieved much better post sixteen.

Secondly just leadership grandstanding. I wish she'd lost her seat.

What an absolutely patronising cow she is Angry

Have we really got to the point that some in government think that's a suitable way to behave in public about someone else Angry

I hope she falls on Penny Mourdants sword

Could it be that Thatcher looks socialist from where Badenoch is stood?

BustingBaoBun · 19/07/2024 20:20

Does she think this does her any favours? She sounds like a right nasty B*tch

Is it possible to lose something one never had?

Notonthestairs · 19/07/2024 20:37

"Secondly just leadership grandstanding. I wish she'd lost her seat."

Yeah. She's got to milk it for all it's worth. Particularly bearing in mind she'll be up against Patel.

I'm sure it will go down well with certain types of Tories. Just less well with the politically unaffiliated voters.

prettybird · 19/07/2024 20:42

It's my turn to pick for the book club I belong to. I chose Orwell's 1984.

I remember reading it at school in 1977. During Thatcher's years, I used to think that the picture of people being ground down into the earth by the jack boot of authority was something that she would've been OK about Shock

Thatcher was a pussy cat compared to the current incarnation of the Conservative Party Hmm.

I chose the book because I wanted to reread it as I think the contents of the book have only become more true in recent years (after the brief interregnum of positive world events in the late 80s/early 90s like the Berlin Wall coming down and the Soviet Union breaking up ) as things have been going progressively downhill, especially with Ukraine, Trump, Xi.

Added to which modern technology has now caught up with what was portrayed in the book. Shock

And we're learning to our cost how language (and changing meanings of words) can affect how we are able to describe reality. Sad

BustingBaoBun · 19/07/2024 20:44

Yes!

Does she know Reagan is dead? She got a replica showerhead of the one he has?
