Have you seen her wandering around the RNC? She looks entirely clueless, and bemused. Although she always was pretty vacant.

Whoever is in charge of her "office" and is writing these bizarre missives purporting to be from her is a very sick person...

"Our mate Phil" did an interesting analysis of British loonybins sneaking around the RNC (I take it we've all seen the picture of Johnson, Truss and Farage addressing an audience of 2 ).

They totally don't get the "A" in MAGA means no one gives a toss about foreigners - which is what they are to MAGAman. The phrase "can't get arrested" springs to mind.

In fact, on a serious note, MAGA is interesting as it is deliberately not trying to link up with other fascist groups around the world. I guess that is a limit of their core base.

Also, Boris Johnson, should be very very very careful to make sure his MAGA mates do not discover he gave up his US citizenship to avoid paying tax. It really wouldn't sit well in a lot of bars in Mississippi.

I've a regular annual work trip to the US next month - it's the first time in 10 years I'm not really looking forward to it.

I find Liz Truss fascinating in a horror way. I just can't understand how she thinks she is relevant any more. Her parents were very left wing, and she turned from a Republican Lib Dem... to what she is now, hard right wing. How and why, I'd love to know

She is utterly deranged

The more Truss speaks, the more concerned I am for her mental wellbeing

Proportionately I care as much about Liz Truss as she cared about us.

So that's fuck all divided by 65,000,000. Or multiplied. It's still fuck all.

There are people who will be paying extra for their mortgages and getting less in their pensions (raises hand) for decades to come thanks to her.

Huh. Before the election a poster on here told me the fact my mortgage had gone up 50% because of Truss was my own fault for being disorganised and not fixing before she got in.

I'm very pleased we are now past that nonsense

Yep! I remember reading towards the end of the lettuce time, she had more official photo ops than any other PM in recent times. An absolute tool.

BIWI · 19/07/2024 11:38

She went to school very near to where I grew up. She then claimed that she went to school in a very deprived area. Roundhay couldn't be any more middle class and affluent if it tried! (Incidentally, also the school my mother taught at. She would have given her short shrift about that, were she still with us!)

I grew up in Yorkshire too and Liz Truss saying she understood the "red wall" because she came from it used to really make me laugh! 😂

It could only be less likely if she was from Adel

prettybird · 19/07/2024 12:31

I remember being Shock and Confused at a corporate night out (at York races with my dp of the time). She mentioned that her ds had pled with her to be allowed to go to his rugby training that night on his own, as she wouldn't be around to take him, but that she hadn't let him.

He was sixteen. They lived in Roundhay. Rugby training was there too. Confused

Ok, this was over 30 years ago Blush. Things might have changed Wink

BIWI · 19/07/2024 12:51

Nope. Roundhay still as affluent and fortunate as it could be!

BIWI · 19/07/2024 12:56

A quick look at Zoopla shows that the two houses up for sale that are nearest to Roundhay School are on the market for £1.45m and £1.75m.

prettybird · 19/07/2024 12:59

I remember thinking I was never going to be as paranoid and over-protective when I had kids. Wink

And I wasn't Grin

tobee · 19/07/2024 13:04

Liz Truss is like a hollow person who tries on different identities and ideologies for size. None of them really fit.

Ha! This image just came into my head

So these people claim to be his supporters, but they are happily taking the piss out him for wandering around with a bit of cloth stuck to his ear.

Will the manchild/baby still be wearing it in a month for the sympathy vote, or will he have finally realised that he just looks like a bigger knob than usual?

"Sympathy vote"

Apparently polling has yet to shift ?

It's vaguely like "The Emperors New Clothes" ? Or is it just me ?

Anyone read of the blue/green factions in Rome ? (was the basis of a plot for "The Tomorrow People" in 1974....)

TimeForRishiByeByes · 19/07/2024 17:42

Anybody watched the satire Liz truss on YouTube? Liv struss.
She's absolutely hilarious.

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2024 17:53

iNews is saying Braverman is expected to defect to reform. Will she start wearing an ear bandage?

Apparently Suella is doing one of James O'Brien holiday slots next week on LBC. Should be interesting 😲

newnamethanks · 19/07/2024 19:02

What? Sue Ellen? You know when your mum used to say 'if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all' ? This is one of those occasions.

Zonder · 19/07/2024 19:27

Wow I've just watched Kemi Badenoch speaking down to Angela Rayner in HoC today. What a nasty woman.
