Thank you. ☺️

Unfortunately not much of a surprise with the findings of the covid inquiry Yy would very much like to see Boris in court along with a few other of the charlatans.
really think Liz Truss has lost her grip on reality, surely no one can be that deluded, or maybe they can🤔
anyway I’m off on holiday for a couple of weeks so I wish you all a peaceful time with a government that doesn’t bombard us with daily scandals & nonsense 🏖

Truss has had the nerve to complain about the Civil Service making a political attack on her and her Government 🤬

I think they had just printed facts, what is wrong with that?

Not those sorts of facts ....

prettybird · 18/07/2024 19:20

It's a bit like her complaints about a "failed OBR" Confused

Her complaints are essentially that the OBR didn't give her the figures that she wanted Hmm

Just before she was elected party leader DS2 was chatting at a social event with a senior civil servant who had worked with her. He said if it didn't suit her agenda she would call you a liar for saying grass is green.

Starmer announces £84m of new funding across Africa and the Middle East for projects to deter migration from there

CassieMaddox · 18/07/2024 21:04

I heard his press conference earlier. Brexaloons won't like it, I loved it. And this £84m is a much better idea than Rwanda

itsgettingweird · 18/07/2024 21:11

The country we declared safe by law has mosquitoes that can kill you as they evade the drugs. You can't make it up - on the same day they are slammed for their handling of covid.

But I absolutely loved Starmers speech and commitment to foreign aid for countries to support them to stop the need for mass immigration.

A few weeks in and there's more story crap and daily feelings of actual adults in charge.

If you want to stop people migrating, you need to make staying in their own countries worthwhile - push and pull factors, innit? That's just common sense. And we don't even have a Secretary of State for it!

Evenstar · 18/07/2024 21:30

Idiot Truss has decided another letter to Simon Case is needed, someone on Twitter suggested he could write back suggesting she could contact her MP 🤣

Like they're going to answer all those questions! I would pay good money to see the response she gets!

BIossomtoes · 19/07/2024 06:31

She appears to think she’s still Very important. Case should have referred her to her M P to start with.

NoDishiForRishi · 19/07/2024 08:49

'Impugning' her name? The economy crashed and burned after her little experiment! No ones making that up, that's cause and effect right there! My rent has gone up over a £100 and will likely be going up again soon thanks to her.

Liz, there was a live stream of a lettuce to see what would last longer, the ship has sailed on you ever being taken seriously as a political figure. Kindly bugger off.

IClaudine · 19/07/2024 08:56

What the heck happened in Leeds? There is a thread on it but there's too much racism and benefits/poor people bashing for my taste.

Have a lovely holiday @dontcallmelen 🌞🌞🌞

DuncinToffee · 19/07/2024 09:00

I don't know either IClaudine but that thread is awful

SANCTIONED: vessels used by Russia to enable illicit trade in Russian oil. Putin’s shadow fleet uses deceptive practices in an attempt to undermine sanctions. It is a serious risk to European maritime security, trade, and the environment.

Apparently it was because social services had arrived to take three children into care.

Harehills is a pretty rundown and deprived area of Leeds (I grew up in Leeds), and has always had a very diverse ethnic mix. I have no idea how that might have affected things though.

SerendipityJane · 19/07/2024 10:10

'Impugning' her name?

The libel courts are thataway --->

SerendipityJane · 19/07/2024 10:34

Oh, and Liz: up yours

The more Truss speaks, the more concerned I am for her mental wellbeing. I think it's incredibly sad that she appears to have lost her grip on reality. A change of medication might help with the zombie like behaviour though.

Proportionately I care as much about Liz Truss as she cared about us.

So that's fuck all divided by 65,000,000. Or multiplied. It's still fuck all.

There are people who will be paying extra for their mortgages and getting less in their pensions (raises hand) for decades to come thanks to her.
