@tobee I can't see it, where is it?

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:25

BBC1!

InMySpareTime · 17/07/2024 11:26

I meant the live chat, I'm watching on bbc news

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:26

Oh hang on! It's here on this thread! Just me trying to get it going. Not very successfully 😬😳🤣

NoDishiForRishi · 17/07/2024 11:30

I do hope Nige's constituents are paying attention to where he is today... not representing them that's for sure...

Unless he's back and I've missed it?

SerendipityJane · 17/07/2024 11:30

Very droll, Prime Minister ...

BBC just said Fartage is there - but I missed that as I wasn't watching

BIWI · 17/07/2024 11:34

Where on earth are they all going to sit?!

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:34

Love this bit when members from opposing sides of the house smiling and chatting away.

If I were Black Rod I'd probably slide and slip over walking to HoC!

Farage is there btw

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:34

X post

NoDishiForRishi · 17/07/2024 11:35

Oh, no, my mistake there he is. I don't know what's worse.

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:36

All the bling.

BIWI · 17/07/2024 11:36

I'm not a monarchist by any stretch of the imagination, but I find all this pomp and ceremony strangely moving. God only knows why!

NoDishiForRishi · 17/07/2024 11:37

Charles looking as impressed with it all as ever. 😂

I put it down to the history that it represents!

Tbf they were just saying he makes a big effort to not put any possible sense of opinion on it iyswim.

Hope he's looking serious because of the occasion rather than he's not feeling good

BIWI · 17/07/2024 11:40

Yes, he has to read it without any kind of tone or inflection that he shows he approves/disapproves - which makes it sound really boring!

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:41

I want to see how big the print is!!

Didn't they used to do it on goatskin or something?

DuncinToffee · 17/07/2024 11:45

Sunak just looks relieved, doesn't he

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:45

Oh it was on vellum - calf skin I think

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:45

Very jolly.

NoDishiForRishi · 17/07/2024 11:50

Well that all sounded very reasonable to me!

tobee · 17/07/2024 11:50

Is it just me that hopes everyone gets a good lunch after these ceremonies? Sort of thing where you work up a big appetite! 😃

cardibach · 17/07/2024 11:50

I watched SOP too! Just was catching up with the thread and have just got to the end! I love all the Pomp and ceremony too, despite not being a royalist.
I still maintain I should have been told there were jobs where your uniform includes a sword when I went to careers meetings. Unfair

BIWI · 17/07/2024 11:50

Why do those pages have medals?!
