If your car was broken into RIGHT NOW what could they steal?

For me, a half finished box of Mr Kipling Bakewell tarts

An old coat from Sainsbury’s

A bottle of factor 50 sun cream

Pass it on!

On a serious note, a reminder not to leave any valuables in the car. So many break ins in my area!

O god, I’d love thief’s to come and steel the contents of my car!

Here you go:

Boot
2 bags of potting soil
30 packets of crisps (large Aldi multi pack)
DDs scooter & helmet
dog towel
empty box of Oreo’s
carrier bag with god knows what contents- DH takes carrier bags of drinks, sweets & snacks when he takes the kids out but NEVER empties them from the car.
torch & first aid kit
1 set of roller blades & 2 sets of roller skates
2 x dry robes
picnic blanket
possibly more under all that crap

Back seat
empty packets, wrappers & bottles
crumbs and maybe a few rainbow drops from DDs friend wrapping open a packet in my car 2 days ago.
shoes & socks - for some reason my DDs can’t leave them in till they get home then just leave them in the car.
colouring books & pencils
2 school bags - to be fair they were only left tonight and I didn’t have the energy to nag the kids to get them. Also a bag with sweaty pe kit.
sun hats
booster seat

Front passenger footwell, doors, centre console etc..
bag of pirate clothes from DDs play last night
numerous hair ties, clips, even clip on earrings.
Harry potter audio books
a few other audio books
plastic cups ( always keep a few in the car door)
sick bags
tissues
antibacterial wipes
dog snacks
suncream
sunglasses (kids)

Im also hoping my front door key is in there somewhere. It’s been missing for weeks. Having to use a spare key.

Noiseneverstops · 11/07/2024 03:48

Not my car but my partners - A hundred empty plastic water bottles that my partner chucks in the back and “forgets” to throw out. The kids empty McDonald’s wrappers that they don’t throw out because why should they when dad is a slob and multiple plastic dinosaurs.

LindorDoubleChoc · 11/07/2024 04:12

One camping chair, a plastic petrol can, a 2010 hardback road atlas, my husband's driving glasses and a flannel with a character from the children's film "Cars" on it.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 11/07/2024 04:14

Empty water bottles
snotty tissues
dog fur
Im a classy gal

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 11/07/2024 04:34

My car is old but I have left it unlocked twice in the last month. I have been able to tell both times due to CDs (yea it's that old) being on the seats/ glove box open etc.

Both times a £15 box of cat food has been taken. Annoying rather than devastating but really. Cat food?

shams05 · 11/07/2024 05:31

2 car seats and a toy firemans helmet. A collectable 50p coin and one glove.

shams05 · 11/07/2024 05:34

I used to have a Seat Leon that has a secret compartment under the front passenger seat in which I used to keep emergency £20 note. It was broken into once, they only took a box of slimming world cereal bars.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 11/07/2024 05:41

Apart from dog hair there’s a seat cover and dog bed on the back seat, Adaptil spray, water bowl and dog treats in the pocket.
Bags for life, trolley bag and umbrella in the boot.
Duster, tissues, mints and ice scraper in the glove box.
Probably about £1.75 in loose coins in the tray?

MollyButton · 11/07/2024 05:54

I thought about this just yesterday and the two things I'd be most upset about are my Wellies (quite expensive ones) and my parking clock.
I really wouldn't miss the old Apple core etc.

MrHarleyQuin · 11/07/2024 05:57

Nothing. I'd just be worried about them stealing the actual car. We have an immobiliser.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 11/07/2024 06:05

Cheap pair of sunglasses
Squeegee/ice scraper thing
Microfibre cloth
A pen

Not really worth stealing 😂

Penguinsmum · 11/07/2024 06:07

A thirteen year old wedding dress with cola stains! 😃

ShiftySquirrel · 11/07/2024 06:12

A caravan wheel, a full size spare wheel, a million carrier bags and various teen detritus.

TroysMammy · 11/07/2024 06:19

My shopping trolley on wheels
Two Ikea outdoor sitters
Winter coat
£1.05
Pair of shoes
2 bags for life
Charging cable

aintnospringchicken · 11/07/2024 06:22

Prescription sunglasses
Anti bacterial wipes
Couple of micro fibre clothes
First aid kit
Plastic ground sheet
Reusable shopping bags

BobnLen · 11/07/2024 06:25

In my car, a few Seasalt bags, tissues, tyre pump, so not much
but in DH's car, probably loads of stuff, camera stuff, clothes, shoes, it always seems like he has half the house in there.

qwerty98 · 11/07/2024 06:43

My car got broken into while I was at work a couple of weeks ago and they emptied a carrier bag that was in the back footwell.
All it contained was the rubbish from my Tesco meal deal, a pair of broken sunglasses, and the packaging from a vape (I was a smoker and sometimes a vape is necessary after a stressful day at work, judge away). I imagine they were highly disappointed.

If they’d have bothered to look in the glovebox they would’ve found my emergency £10 note and a Now 67 CD.

hattie43 · 11/07/2024 06:44

Half a bag of haribo
2 x dog leads
A bottle of water

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 11/07/2024 06:45

A set of golf clubs and a homemade cake.

JackJarvisEsq · 11/07/2024 06:45

£1 for the trolley at Lidl
2 Lidl bags
box of tampons

worth the effort 🤣
