There is no doubt he did it. No case of mistaken identity. He’s taken 3 lives. He should be executed.

@moonlightwatch correct us of punctuation and grammar is not an opinion.
Your post is an opinion. So you have said that you should have not posted.

What is wrong with some off you? Because you don't like someone's opinion you start having to get personal? 🙄 jeez

Needtofixmyageingskin · 10/07/2024 21:15

No way to death penalty. So backwards.

OhHelloMiss · 10/07/2024 21:15

@moonlightwatch what? You just talking about giving general injections? Nurses/doctors have signed a code of ethics

They won't do it! You are so flippant and naive..

Life2Short4Nonsense · 10/07/2024 21:16

This was back when John Oliver's show was still good.

You can’t just get any Tom, dick or Harry to give injections you have to be trained is what I am saying!!!!!!

OhHelloMiss · 10/07/2024 21:18

So who will train for that job?? Who?

SuperBatFace · 10/07/2024 21:18

Men (and it's overwhelmingly men) who commit these crimes do get released from prison

Some time ago there was a bloke who killed his partners children in an act of vengeance and stuck their heads on spikes in the garden.

He was released a few years back.

BowlOfNoodles · 10/07/2024 21:12

Embarrassingly I also know somebody who's been in and out and have been given the same description of prison all in the name or human rights isn't it?

🤷🏼‍♀️

This horrendous crime happened 24 hours ago. I think the speculation on this thread is really distasteful

Champagnesocialismo · 10/07/2024 21:21

There used be an excess of people who wanted to hang people when we did that. They were rejected because they were not considered psychologically stable.

To kill people over and over again is not a normal thing to do; still less do well adjusted people volunteer.

Even when we did kill people in this country it is not nearly as many as you imagine. Most of them had their sentences commuted to life imprisonment even before the death penalty was abolished.

OhHelloMiss · 10/07/2024 21:21

How many hours is appropriate before we can discuss something that is currently in the news?

Yeah because my spelling and grammar makes all the difference when I was just giving my opinion on this thread like everyone else! Boring 😴🤦🏼‍♀️

That’s not what I said or what I mean and you know it 🙄

It’s exactly what you said.

This is interesting a family of mine was raped and murdered abroad. The perpetrator was caught and hanged. 100 % him.
Her daughter says the hanging absolutely did not help and made the whole event far worse. She has nightmares for years about the hanging and strongly disagrees with corporal punishment. Two wrongs dont make a right. So there is no chance for them to feel remorse or understand the consequences of their terrible actions.

For all those baying for blood, please read this.

TheShellBeach · 10/07/2024 18:27

No.
He should get a whole life tariff (which is likely).

Capital punishment doesn't prevent murder.

Life in prison doesn't prevent murder either but I lean towards life in prison in the hope that people like that get to live the rest of their life in regret but I don't really know if this is true or not.

Hiyawotcha · 10/07/2024 21:27

No no no.

the death penalty has no place in a civilised society

plus I cannot imagine the strain of serving on a jury in a trial where the outcome could be the death penalty. I for one could not do it.

MartyFunkhouser · 10/07/2024 21:29

No, they’re shouldn’t.

notbelieved · 10/07/2024 21:30

WilmaFlintstone1 · 10/07/2024 18:32

They’ve got him, keep him alive and let him get the shit kicked out of him in prison.

really? he killed women, not children.

CHEESEY13 · 10/07/2024 21:30

Castration (and I damn well mean it) followed by absolute solitary confinement for every day of his remaining miserable life, no prospect of parole and the mind-damaging consequences of eternal boredom would be a more fitting penalty than the 'easy' way out of capital punishment.

ByCupidStunt · 10/07/2024 21:31

The death penalty wouldnt really punish him because he'll be dead.

It's his parents who'll suffer instead and they didn't do anything wrong.

Pebbles16 · 10/07/2024 21:32

BowlOfNoodles · 10/07/2024 19:38

Really? In general no but Ian Huntley? Wouldn't be a sad day for me.

No. I cannot condone a state sanctioned murder of anyone.
There are dreadful people in this world. Do you want to live in an "eye for an eye" society?
Whilst this thread is interesting, it also names an individual and - as far as know - we need to adhere to the letter of the law to ensure justice for all.

Careful you will be deemed a nutter for even saying that by other MN users 🤣

Well, they've somehow managed to raise at least two sons who've committed murder so they've truly fucked up somewhere.
