I'm 40 which matches my heart age :)

Mine is the same as my age (55) because of my brother’s heart attack I guess. But every other indicator is no issue. I left put post code as I’m not uk based.

TomatoSandwiches · 09/07/2024 17:24

My Bmi is 28.3 my blood pressure is nearly always perfect but I do have diabetes, bad cholesterol (on statins) and a poor family history of strokes and heat attacks, lots of deaths under 50 from them.
I also recently had my ECG done and my QTc was 468.

BatshitCrazyWoman · 09/07/2024 17:30

I'm 60 and my heart age is 55.

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 09/07/2024 17:30

It added a couple of years to me because I didn't know my BP or my cholesterol. Which I don't know because I've not needed either tested for years! Bit upset about those added years as I run miles regularly and am training for a half marathon - but it never asked me if I was fit and healthy!

SwedishEdith · 09/07/2024 17:34

Determined to beat it now. I gave myself a BMI of about 23 and a systolic of 120. Left off postcode and cholesterol and still only knocked off a year.

Said no family history and it knocked 7 years off my original result.

Cangar · 09/07/2024 17:45

46 and I’m 44 - slightly high cholesterol 😣

Eyeworries2024 · 09/07/2024 17:45

Yeah, my heart age is really high due to family history. I can't bring it down due to that.

Simonjt · 09/07/2024 17:47

Its a pointless ‘test’ as it doesn’t ask about physical activity, diet, alcohol etc.

toobusytothink · 09/07/2024 17:49

Sorry but that’s absolutely rubbish! Just like bmi. It doesn’t take into account body fat %, fitness level, resting heart rate, recovery rate, muscle etc.

hattie43 · 09/07/2024 17:51

I'm 59 and heart age 62.
Given I'm overweight I'm going to try and shift the extra poundage

DisgruntledPelican · 09/07/2024 17:53

42, and I’m 39. I’m about 4 stone overweight 😫 so this is surprisingly low tbh. We have a machine at work which does this calculation and I daren’t use it.

Agreed , it’s useless . FWIW I just put in my dad’s details and it said his heart age was 66 , he actually died of a massive heart attack at 51 so are they suggesting people aged 66 should be dropping dead .

HelpMeGetThrough · 09/07/2024 17:58

Heart age of 89.......

I'm 52

FindingMeno · 09/07/2024 17:58

7 years older than the rest of me.
Bad family history and a smoker.

TitInATrance · 09/07/2024 18:00

it added on 5 years for me because I once smoked. When I’ve had similar tests at the GP I typically came out 7 years younger than I was - even though I’d smoked more recently in those days.

I think it’s useless.

OriginalFloorboards · 09/07/2024 18:00

Hey everyone,

How can I get a cholesterol test without bothering my doctor?

Is it possible?

51 but got 53 without knowing my cholesterol or blood pressure (latter is fine but didn’t know numbers).

Scorchio84 · 09/07/2024 18:02

I'm not " suitable" typical 😆

MonsteraMama · 09/07/2024 18:05

38, I'm 34. I'm assuming it's because I'm a former smoker, though almost a decade smoke free now!

Helenloveslee4eva · 09/07/2024 18:05

I love that I have a high heart age cos I’m a bit fat. Doesn’t ago about excercise

IlFaitBeau · 09/07/2024 18:05

My age 39
Heart age 42

Losing 15 kilos of weight still keeps it at 42.

However selecting "no" for family history by ignoring dads heart attacks brings it down to 37.

Everything else I ticked "no". Losing weight is literally the only thing I could change but clearly even losing 15 kilos makes not a jott of difference to the heart age - because it's family history that keeps it where it is

OldTinHat · 09/07/2024 18:05

47 and I'm 52.

MimitteAndElsaGoToSwitzerland · 09/07/2024 18:07

37 and I'm 40, assuming I have low cholesterol.

I don't see any reason to assume I'd have high cholesterol though. I've always been a healthy weight. My BMI has been around 20 for my entire adult life.

FindingMeno · 09/07/2024 18:08

It's interesting changing the variables.

greengreyblue · 09/07/2024 18:09

48 and I’m 53. Hardly accurate though.
