Pinch of Nom Chinese-Style Chicken and Broccoli (without the Broccoli/carrot this time, although they are nice too, having red/orange peppers instead)

Haven't decided whether to have rice or noodles yet.

Got a stuffing filled chicken for half price In Aldi yesterday, making jersey royals, salad, spring onions, coleslaw, potato salad and beetroot salad to go with it, then tiramisu for pudding 🤤

Sticky chicken

Going to make a marinade of ketchup, honey, Worcester sauce, teriyaki sauce, rock salt, ground pepper, chilli flakes. Coat chicken thighs in it then stick in the oven for about half-hour, serve on a bed of rice with some tenderstem broccoli. Lovely

Broccoli and cauliflower soup. Soda bread.

muddyford · 07/07/2024 17:37

A lovely summery meal. Haggis (found two in the deep freeze) with bashed neeps and tatties, followed by strawberries and ice cream. Well, pudding is summery, anyway. I don't think I have ever bought a swede in July before.

Moll98 · 07/07/2024 17:41

Macaroni cheese. We fry some chopped chorizo and mix that though, then finish it off under the grill with some mozerella on top.

Moll98 · 07/07/2024 17:43

@muddyford absolutely love haggis! I'm sure we've got some left in the freezer from burns night but I'm pregnant so they'll be staying there for some time! We tend to have it with potatoes and my husband makes a whisky peppercorn sauce to go with it

Does people really make their own pizzas? Confused Much cheaper and easier to get ready-made from the supermarket!

Edited

You'd be as well eating the box they come in. Much nicer to make your own. You can control what goes into them as well.

I put strong flour into my fritter batter so I decided to use the rest of it up in some focaccia with oily salty herby zucchine and peppers on top.
Definitely worth making!

Ooh, I would love the sauce recipe! Sounds delicious. It's been so cold I thought haggis would hit the spot.

Quesadillas (four people = 8 quesadillas)
Spread a little tomato purée or pesto on a quesadilla. Put quesadilla in frying pan, on top of the paste put a slice of ham, then grated cheese, put another quesadilla on top, and warm through on a gentle heat for 3-4mins. Flip the quesadilla over, and cook for approximately 3-4 mins. Cut into quarters and keep warm whilst making the the remainder. Serve with a salad.

Having a bit of a rubbish weekend. Husband’s been on call since Friday and our daughter has D&V. She’s finally feeling a bit better so has asked for veggie fingers and chips and I’m going to heat up some left over pasta and veg sauce, garlic bread and some salad for me and my husband later on if he’s still home. Will chuck a pizza in the oven if he’s not.

Craftysue · 07/07/2024 18:34

Just ordered a pizza express - padana and halloumi bites - I'm on my own tonight and I'm knackered so I'm treating myself. Love the sound of some of the meals though

Tisfortired · 07/07/2024 18:43

We had Joe Wicks miso and maple chicken thighs, served with sticky rice and a carrot and cucumber Asian salad.
