HungryLittleCrocodile · 07/07/2024 14:14

I'm on the 5:2 diet, and today is one of the '2' days, so I will be having a salad. Smile

Does people really make their own pizzas? Confused Much cheaper and easier to get ready-made from the supermarket!

Rosesanddaffs · 07/07/2024 14:15

Chilli paneer, chicken curry, bombay potatoes and a yogurt and cucumber dip, if I can be bothered I might make some chapatis to go with it all

MumChp · 07/07/2024 14:15

Chicken and Rice.

@HungryLittleCrocodile yeah we do, it's like a family activity. We have a pizza oven so it adds to the fun.

murasaki · 07/07/2024 14:39

Moussaka , just defrosting, I made it with the left over Easter lamb shoulder so super tasty.

It gets rationed and that only leaves 2 left which makes me sad.

Edited

Of course-home made pizza is much nicer. We have a pizza oven outside, so love making our own.

Chicken curry, cauliflower curry, rice, parathas and poppadoms. DH is cooking. I have the biggest watermelon in the world for dessert.

TheChosenTwo · 07/07/2024 14:45

Change of plan from what we thought, we are doing a tapas night as dd is off to Spain tomorrow with her boyfriend, he’s staying the night as dh is taking them to the airport early doors tomorrow. His mum is also coming for dinner.
prawns and chorizo, octopus, aioli, chicken wings, slow cooked pork, whatever else dh and ds are currently whipping up. It smells amazing!

Sgtmajormummy · 07/07/2024 14:57

I bought too many zucchine so I’m thinking of making one massive onion carrot and zucchine fritter in the oven with flour eggs and milk. Grated cheese for the last 5 minutes. Any leftovers will be tasty cold, too.
We have hamburgers for those who say “where’s the beef?” and some delicious ice cream from our local gelateria (at €12.50 for eight scoops, it would need to be!).

Chicken and chorizo pasta

Bewilderedallthetine · 07/07/2024 15:14

I am a single parent to a young son with no help whatsoever. Last Saturday my son and I went to a village fate. We spent a lovely afternoon there and I won a meat voucher from the local butchers for £100. I can spend it anyway I like as the lovely butcher just takes what I spend off my voucher. So my son an I am living like royalty for the next couple of weeks. A fresh chicken for our hot dinner today, chicken curry for tea tomorrow and chicken sandwiches (all left over from our chicken) for our packed lunches for work/school tomorrow. Burgers, sausages, mince and some stir fry for the rest of this week. And we still have money left on our voucher for next week..its been a godsend.

longtompot · 07/07/2024 15:28

@Bewilderedallthetine oh that's lovely, congratulations on your win 😊

I won a competition for two free loaves of bread for a year from a local bakery. It was so nice to pick up each week. Though I wish they gave me a card or something as after about 6 months it got a bit awkward with new staff and trying to explain who I was and why I could have free bread. I think I stopped going a month or so after that.

Feeling under the weather so used my little bit of energy this morning to set up dinner in the slow cooker. Sausage casserole (sweet potato, carrots, celery and tinned tomatoes). I can’t eat onions so use some asafoetida instead and extra herbs. Will serve over a bit of pasta. It’s yummy and so easy, a BBC good food recipe.

Vhagar · 07/07/2024 15:52

Bangers and mash 😄

Snowpaw · 07/07/2024 15:53

BBQ ribs with some form of potato

TheDogsMother · 07/07/2024 15:54

Warm surf and turf salad with broad beans and roast baby potatoes.

NoKnickerElastic · 07/07/2024 15:55

BBQ slow cooked chicken in brioche buns with avocado, coleslaw and salad.

Bonjovispjs · 07/07/2024 13:08

Eggs in purgatory 😋 I'd never even heard of it until I was looking for recipes to use my homemade tomato sauce with (bored with pasta) Now I can't get enough of it, so good.

That sounds very similar to Shakshuka which I've just had for lunch.

CoffeandTiaMaria · 07/07/2024 16:00

Stuffed chicken thighs, roast potatoes and parsnips, Yorkshire puds, runner and broad beans, broccoli and gravy. Pannacotta caramel to follow.

Itsmeamandaberry · 07/07/2024 16:02

I am having nothing (Mounjaro has taken away my appetite) rest of the fam are having homemade quiche Lorraine with salad and possibly chips.

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 07/07/2024 16:06

Fish fingers, chips and beans or Scampi and chips. I can't decide, but I have no mayo or tartare sauce so it might be fish fingers. It feels like a Sunday for something simple and comforting.

MrsMaryMooFace · 07/07/2024 16:08

We still love a Sunday roast so unless it's boiling hot weather, we stick to the routine.

Today's will be:

Roast pork loin
Honey roast carrots
Roast poatoes
Fresh peas
Leeks
Stuffing
Yorkshire puds
Gravy

All gluten free.

However lots of brilliant ideas in this thread for other nights!
