The motorcade is forming at Downing Street, they expect Rishi to be out soon.

Morning
Went to bed at 4.30am
Pleased to say our mad ex mp got only 1500 votes :)

CassieMaddox · 05/07/2024 10:01

Woke up to a new MP. Bye bye Foxy! Yeeeeessssss!
I'm very happy about that, about Starmer as PM, about the LD result, that reform only got 4 seats and PoW sank without trace!

What a beautiful day

Zonder · 05/07/2024 10:01

1 Tory gain? Where on earth was that?

Evenstar · 05/07/2024 10:10

@Zonder Andrew Bridgen’s former constituency I think, he only got around 1500 votes as an Independent

Escentricmolecule · 05/07/2024 10:11

One other nice thing this morning is I no longer have to worry about the batshit Labour bashing threads on MN 😁

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2024 10:14

Educational makeup of the new cabinet: 90%+ state school educated

InMySpareTime · 05/07/2024 10:14

There will still be plenty of Labour bashing threads, but now they'll be about why Labour aren't immediately making everything better/funding this or that, and also why it would be unfair to raise anyone's tax on anything to fund this or that.

Thanks - so not really much of a gain, just had a wobble.

Larry the cat!

cardibach · 05/07/2024 10:21

Thanks! I went to bed at 4.30 and got 4 hours. I'd seen JRM talking to the C4 team and was pretty sure he'd lost from his demeanour- it was after he knew the vote but before it was announced. Catching up on BBC on my iPad in bed now.
What a time to be alive. So many sad Tories in sports halls.

BIossomtoes · 05/07/2024 10:21

After a total of two hours sleep in two increments I feel very spaced out. It’s a shame after all the joy of the night that I still have a Tory MP but oh, what a night! It’s a beautiful day even if it is raining.

I'm so happy about the lib dems getting back into their third party status. Will be nice to hear more from them

DuncinToffee · 05/07/2024 10:22

Sunak appearance imminent

Zonder · 05/07/2024 10:22

Get it over with Rishi.

BestIsWest · 05/07/2024 10:22

I went to bed just after Mogg too. I feel very jittery this morning.

Westfacing · 05/07/2024 10:23

Larry the Cat in attendance!

Here comes the lectern

Oh that is so funny. Looks like his Knight in shining armour campaign leaflet didn't convince many then 😁

It’s almost like telling England how much of a shithole Wales is under Labour was not a great strategy for winning votes in Wales.

God yes.

The number of times 'but Wales' was trotted out in answer to anything.

Hope he has a brolly this time.

Evenstar · 05/07/2024 10:26

King has just arrived at Buckingham Palace

Zonder · 05/07/2024 10:27

Tory bloke on BBC just said he thinks Rishi will step down as leader but stay as MP for a little while!

A little while? Those Californian rays won't wait for everyone you know.
