Some peonies in lieu of pets.

Beautiful garden.
Mrs May is going to have plenty of spare time soon if you happen to also have wheat in your garden?

"We've got plenty of candidates from all sorts of backgrounds."

That's just like saying I can't possibly hate cheese some of my best friends are dairy.

To be honest I think if you're undecided about who you're going to vote for then you won't go out to vote. Watching Newsnight

newnamethanks · 03/07/2024 22:51

Re the peonies, it is a beautiful garden but it's not mine unfortunately, it's the garden of a house in Hampshire, open for visits, and I took the pics while there. For fans, it's a small (for a country house garden) and beautifully planted garden, lots of peonies. River Test runs through it and there's a small flock? Herd? of Alpacas alongside. Nice tearoom. Houghton Lodge near Stockbridge.

Unbelievable that Guto Hari is on Newsnight, hopefully he will be disappearing into oblivion along with the Tories.

newnamethanks · 03/07/2024 22:55

Re the Channel4 smear by Farage and demands for Ofcom to investigate as a matter of urgency, this has been done and Ofcom has cleared C4 of any wrongdoing.

RishisLeavingDo · 03/07/2024 22:55

Ofcom has dismissed complaints made about a Channel 4 News undercover investigation, which captured Reform UK volunteers expressing racist, Islamophobic and homophobic views.

As a journalist? No way. What a piss take

Just you lot mentioning that it's 24 hours to the exit poll (23 now) makes me want to rush to the loo (Blush) so what I'm going to be like tomorrow night. Sweaty palms, walking a bit wobbly, shaking hands, pale face, sick feeling and digestive issues, no concentration and inability to speak fluently I predict.

Thank god I'm not helping host an election night party that my parents did carelessly in 1992!

Fond memories (?) of May losing her majority in 2017 has me & dd became quite hysterical. Elmo as the vote was read out nearly finished us off.

I know. I don't know how I am going to get through til 10pm tomorrow.

Evenstar · 03/07/2024 23:09

@Champagnesocialismo he just seemed to be making excuses for Boris and claiming nobody had wanted Labour at previous elections, I am not certain what capacity he was there in.

My abiding memory is of Boris calling him in after Partygate to be his spin doctor and the best thing he could say was that Boris wasn’t a complete clown 😡. I think very little of his judgement. He has worked at GB News as well, I would have expected serious journalists to be on Newsnight on the eve of the election.

On twitter, the Tories seem to be doing an hourly countdown to the polls opening.

That video makes central London look quite pleasant actually

KenAdams · 03/07/2024 23:32

It's a video by The News Agents btw - Emily Maitlis et al.

L1ttledrummergirl · 03/07/2024 23:36

Thanks for the new thread. It's moving quickly.

The tory countdown is pathetic and smacks of desperation. If that's the best they can do, it's no wonder the country is screwed.
