Keir Starker has ruled out rejoining the EU "in his lifetime" why are all politicians so committed to assuaging the minority now who still believe in Brexit - it drives me mad!

Our bins (two households). We're actually due to get another two bins this year (grey: the recycling will be split between blue and grey - but they'll accept more types of plastic than they do now). Today was brown and green (green is only every three weeks, but between the two households, we still only put out one green bin )

If Starmer is reading this: I never thought I would see peace in Northern Ireland but here I am; I'm in possession of an Irish passport and a British passport all because of the Good Friday Agreement. I will possibly see a united Ireland in my life time as well.

I would think the EU would want the UK to demonstrate some sort of adult behaviour towards them for a period of time before even considering the UK re-joining. So the sooner anyone of the right of the Tory party is voted out and no longer an MP, the better.

I don't think he was referencing the EU's position. He has obviously firmly set the UK's future firmly against rejoining. Not gonna lie I'm very disappointed.

I agree, Labour's stance on Brexit is very disappointing.

The challenge with rejoining the EU is it will not be on the same very favourable terms that Thatcher and others had negotiated for the UK.

Certainly joining Schengen and the Euro would probably be necessary.
I think the best we can hope for is a move towards the kind of Norway-lite scenario that Farage used to be such a fan of.

Just think it all comes from obsession with not spooking the electorate. Probably originated from "what went wrong in 2019 GE" and probably thought up months ago when it was possible that the polls would narrow.

I don't feel Labour have been very nimble during this campaign. Obviously ming vase carrying comes to mind. And if it all consigns the Tories to the trash then it would be job done.
